The famous BMW M235i might lose the fame it has received so far, as the newly arriving 2016 BMW M2 is reportedly to be more agile, lighter as well as more powerful.

Reports have recently indicated that in order to gain the extra power, the M2 would have to lose some weight. But we do not have any ideas what body modifications BMW will make, since it is already known that the little brother will come with a conventional roof and not with a carbon fiber one. Surely, other parts of the body will receive carbon fiber components.

We should also mention that after these body mods, the 2016 BMW M2 will be more powerful than the M235i, with around 40 horsepower, the sports car also being fitted with state-of-the-art suspension and braking systems, a mechanical locking differential and a few more.

Apart from that, the 2016 BMW M2 will come with some interesting upgrades at the body, like an aggressive splitter, new hood, blacked out kidney grille as well as a set of new wheels. More tweaks involve the BMW`s M quad tailpipes at the rear.

Moving under the hood, the upcoming 2016 BMW M2 will also be innovative, as it will sport the new-gen 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder, delivering around 370 horsepower and hooked to a six-speed manual transmission. Additionally, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be also offered.

Expect fresh news this October, where the 2016 BMW M2 might be launched at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, or even earlier, in September.
