The BMW Gerrnan based is thinking big right now, as it stands between the bridge of whether to launch an electric MINI model or stay on the same path, by restricting the model to only seven versions.

The news came from AutoNews online magazine, which quoted Peter Schwarenbauer, the board member at BMW, saying that the new MINI electric would set the new standards in the car`s design as well, but it remains unsure when the electric version would emerge.

“To evaluate all of this, I would say six months at least,” Schwarenbauer also told Reuters on Tuesday, with the occasion of an interview at Cowley Oxford plant on Tuesday.

The idea of producing a MINI electric car was first put into practice at the 2014 Villa d`Estate Concours d`Elegance, when the carmaker launched the MINI Superleggera Vision concept car, which was the longer, two-door version of the standard MINI.

Since the car was long praised for its extraordinary and futuristic design and the clearly distinguishable combination between classic and modern, hence the idea of introducing an upcoming MINI electric version.

The BMW`s subdivision MINI has big plans with its future models, as an electric version might hit the market soon enough.

The evolution of the MINI carmaker was something inevitably, as the carmaker`s models have constantly suffered design and performance modifications.

The new MINI electric was first previewed by the Superleggera concept, seen last week in the United Kingdom, and might be showcased as a two-door roadster, but longer and much sleeker than the standard one.

The member of the BMW board Peter Schwarzenbauer, stated that the carmaker has an array of possibilities to choose from, concerning the manufacturing of a MINI electric version, that would hit the market in around six months.

“… you look into several different options, you come to the question: do we produce it ourselves, do we give it to somebody else,” Schwarzenbauer also stated.

The BMW German based automaker, the godfather of MINI, is also planning to minimize the British carmaker`s lineup by seven MINI models, which would eventually lead to a global reorganization of the carmaker.

BMW is proud to announce the introduction of its first completely electric vehicle the 515 Electric Mini E. The ambitious part is that 515 Electric Mini E is claiming a fairly incredible 240 Kilometres of driving, placing it at the forefront of mobility in today’s world thus offering more autonomy than previous electric vehicles.

515 Electric Mini E boasts that the E’s brushless electric motor drives the front wheels via a single-stage helical gearbox to pump out 204 horse power turbo, 1.6-litre four cylinder smoothly on the road.

The 515 Electric Mini E is designed to accelerate nearly 100 Kilometres an hour in just 8.5 seconds, the seemingly lethargic pickup which is the result of extra 200 kilograms of batteries it carries in the rear seat area. 515 Electric Mini E takes an even more aggressive approach as you let up on the gas pedal. When you simply take the foot off the accelerator, the car literally feels like it wants to stop for a streetlight. Handling 515 Electric Mini E is still go-kart-like and the interior is little different with mounted tachometer that has been modified into a battery charge gauge.
