After the BMW i8 has been specially put to some test drives, the reviews given by the CAR Magazine Review reveal a high 5-star rating that the supercar has managed to pull off.

The i8 received 5 stars for overall rating like handling, performance, usability, “feelgood factory” and 4 stars for reader`s rating.

The BMW i8 was well praised on the road, where it managed to perform a high-extended range from 310 to 370 miles with the supercar running on the usual Comfort mode.

The BMW i8 also received some rewarding point for its powertrain, with its V8 powerful enough to sprint the full 0 to 100 km/h range in just 4.4 seconds, making the supercar slower than the 911 Carrera with just one tenth.

As for stability on the road, the i8 permits its driver to “partly or fully deactivate” the car`s stability control, which can offer you an unexpected experience in tight corners.

Overall, the i8 stands in front with its innovative and radical body design, enhanced with high-performance abilities and great handling, partly because of its carbon fiber components, electrification or technology inside.

G-Power is a tuner that has a bit of a love affair with the products of the Bavarians at BMW and they’ve just announced what they plan to do with the new F10 M5.

We’re not getting too many pictures of what the new G-Power BMW M5 will look like but we do at least get a decent enough press release to know what it offers up.

The aesthetic package is about as minimalist as possible and that’s a good think. The best part of the effort G-Power puts into the new M5 is used to make it faster.

Thanks to some fettling with ECU and add a new custom exhaust system, G-Power bumped the output of the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine considerably.

The figures now go from 560 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque to an impressive 650 horsepower and 573 lb-ft of twist.

Changes in performance are easily noticeable as the sprint from 0 to 62 takes just 3.9 seconds and the one from 0 to 124 takes no more than 11.9 seconds.

The tuner also worked up the handling so that it takes care of the power through the corners with more ease.

The changes here are the addition of a height-adjustable coil-over suspension, a new braking system and a new wheel and tire setup.

The F10 BMW M5 now gets 21 inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

G-Power didn’t really say anything about the top speed figure the newly tuned M5 can hit but they did tell us they’re making a successor to the Hurricane RR model.

Since that model holds the title of world’s fastest sedan car, we’re not exactly looking down at something which is shy on power, are we now?

For a big part of the world, the winter season has barely started showing its fangs but in the northern countries winter testing facilities are almost permanent.

That’s how the Paparazzi of the automotive world have managed to snap some more shots of the BMW i3 as it is being tested in these harsh conditions.

It’s not the first encounter we get with the spyshots of the BMW i3, nor is it the first time it’s been spotted along side a winter background but these pictures make a good case for viewing.

Firstly, this time the BMW i3 EV REx wasn’t spotted on a road or in simple conditions but rather lapping a bit of a circuit outlined in the snow.

This means that even though we’re looking at an i Range product, one that’s meant to save the world first, BMW is still concerned about the way it drives.

It should come as no surprise really. If BMW managed to make the enormous barge that is the Phantom handle decently and the small Mini handle beautifully, there’s nothing they can’t do in this area.

As for the rest of the BMW i3, there’s nothing new going on. It looks about the same, is still heavily camouflaged every time it’s out and there’s no change in its schedule or future plans.

We’re still expecting an official market launch sometime in early 2013 with the REx version destined to follow shortly after that.

On the sales front, BMW still hope to sell some 30.000 units a year once the i3 gets past the initial sluggishness of distribution and so on.

For all the BMW fanboysm we’re capable of, there are a few models we’re not exactly thrilled with. The BMW 1 Series and the 5 Series GT can be listed here.

A mixture between the two will certainly make pretty much every attribute that’s unpleasant about the two stand out. Or will it?

After all, it’s not like we dislike both models for the same reason. Each comes with plus and minus points to consider, but what’s important is the minuses.

Not like they’re overwhelming but they do seem to be complementing each other quite well. The 1 Series already isn’t the best looking car out there so a GT smattering of ugly won’t affect it too much.

The GT added practicality however will be greatly appreciated by anybody who’s had a previous or current generation BMW 1 Series in their garage.

A nearly completely new design is very likely the 2013 BMW 1 Series GT will be introduced but there’s something even more substantial that’s about to be different.

Instead of the BMW specific rear wheel drive setup, the 1 Series GT spied here will be using a front wheel drive one. This should mean that there’s even more interior room to be gained from this move.

The only problem would be a compromise in the the handling and power delivery but we’re guessing that the Mini model spied along side will blow off some pleasant driving DNA back to its bigger relative.

Though on paper a BMW 1 Series GT sounds like a rubbish idea, the world of compromise it’s in seems to make a lot of sense.

According to sources quoted by with egmCarTech, BMW have recently held a clinic group study on the east coast and west coast to show owners a new entry-level hatchback.

The model, which will fit below the 1-Series (which is odd since I was thinking the 1 Series was going to be the smallest car they made unless they wanted to produce a 0), will feature traditional BMW styling in hatchback form and will be built on the company’s upcoming front-wheel-drive platform.

BMW purists shake at the hearing of these words, front wheel drive, what has this company come to? To be honest though, it might not be that bad as the revived Mini which is a BMW project is a great handling car.

Speaking of the Mini, the new generation of models will be sharing the basis of this small hatch FWD BMW entry-level and that basis will be the front-wheel-drive architecture the company is working on, according to BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer.

And as the next generation of Mini this new BMW is set to have a debut within the year 2014. Development boss Klaus Draeger has confirmed this and also mentioned that the size group for the new BMW will be in the same playing field with the Volkswagen Golf and the Scirocco.
