November hasn’t been with us for that long. Despite this, I’m willing to bet you’ve heard at least 10 stories about financial problems so far this month.

Sure enough, there are plenty of problems out there and there are some serious bits of number crunching that need to be done before everything straightens out.

This is an effect that has washed away with most of the dreams and ambitions of the automotive industry for this and the following couple of years or so.

BMW meanwhile seem to not be affected by the situation as the Bavarians are telling us they don’t plan to change their original prediction.

Given their latest sales results, it seems that there’s just no point in telling people they’re not hoping to grow or turn certain profits anymore.

Currently they’re on the rise, they’re still keeping the opposition in the rear view mirror and there’s no point in adapting to the economy just to lose out to them.

BMW Chief Financial Officer, Friedrich Eichiner, went on record as talking about these results and predictions and there was something impressive to consider.

It seems that he considers the European market still in it. The company’s very diversified lineup of products, will have adapted to the small market quite well.

In fact, he thinks that BMW will do so well against the stress of the European market, that he genuinely expects it to grow.

That sounds remarkable and since most analysts reckon it’s a big mistake, that kind of sounds like a bit of good news for me. It’s rare to see optimism these days.

Not that I’m the sort of guy who can’t be humble but boy did BMW stick it to the economy last month. Even in China where things are a melting pot, the Bavarians sold a lot of cars.

China is an enormous market anyway but for last month BMW got a hike of 59%. Quiet is rolling in at Audi and Mercedes as their statistics folks are coming up with results.

A total of 29.631 units of BMW and Mini-branded vehicles were bought by the Chinese and so far we’re yet to hear anything about complaints.

Having rounded up September, the figures are also available for the first nine months of 2012 and they speak of a 37 percent year-on-year increase so far.

At the most important part of these sales is the strong demand they’ve been getting for the extended version of the F30 3 Series and the X1 crossover.

According to the analysts, the economic results of the country aren’t all so positive. Just about everybody in China is going up.

Nobody is hitting the same levels as BMW and there’s a good chance that not even the Bavarians will be able to keep things up for longer.

The immense economic growth that used to have us all looking at China is slowing down. The finance crowd is saying that the results are headed for a normalization.

In other words, nobody, regardless of their market, will be breaking any more records. The acceleration of the train has stopped, from now on, it will be cruising.

It seems like the initial concerns over the finances of our favorite Bavarian company have been greatly exaggerated when rumors and reports came in about R&D costs of the F30 BMW 3 Series.

On the other hand, the news about the BMW X3 chipping into some great sales figures over the third quarter only paved the way for the financial results BMW achieved last month.

The tenth month of 2011 actually turned out as the best ever October in not only the company’s history in terms of sales, but of the entire BMW Group.

The BMW Group managed to sell a total of 139.276 vehicles worldwide last month, which signifies an increase of 8.3 percent over what they’ve managed last year.

Naturally, most of the weight comes from the BMW brand itself as its sales volumes went up by a tasty 12.4% with 107.789.

Some of the success also comes from the British subsidiary at Mini, they’ve managed to shift 23.839 units, a bump of 16.2 percent over last year.

This was mostly achieved thanks to the increased success of the Mini Countryman crossover. And then there’s the incredibly low figures of Rolls Royce.

The legendary luxury manufacturer managed to make 279 deliveries, which sounds almost pitiful but it makes up for an incredible 298.6% increase over 2010. In this case, it’s obviously that the increase fell on the shoulders of the Ghost.

Finally, a less than important percentage increase (1.7%) but a decent chunk of units sold for the BMW Group saw them deliver 6.845 motorcycles in October.

With the new posted figures for October, the remaining two months of the year seem to be going according to plan for BMW and the BMW Group, which means that it seems like there’s close to no chance that Audi or Mercedes ends up catching up in terms of sales.

Despite some initial concerns about the costs of coming up with the F30 BMW 3 Series, the Bavarians have a decent portfolio to rely upon in terms of sales.

Apart from the bread and butter F10 BMW 5 Series, the Germans have ridden out the third quarter of 2011 on the impressive sales of the recently refreshed BMW X3.

Third quarter figures for BMW actually managed to come in better than analysts anticipated based on the economic problems still plaguing Europe at the moment.

In hard numbers BMW’s third-quarter profits have grown by $2.35 billion when compared to 2010, on the basis of a 24 percent raise in net income.

While overall revenue is up by 3.8 percent (translated, that means they made 16.5 billion euros) and operating profit was at a healthy 11.9 BMW didn’t have as good a time as they did in the second quarter.

Reasoning behind this being the aforementioned crisis, the fact that sales of the BMW 1 and BMW 3 Series dropped in expectation of the new F20 and F30 models and the BMW X5’s major rival, the Mercedes ML getting a new version.

The F25 BMW X3 is credited with rescuing the situation over this period and the new 1 and 3 Series are expected to chip in for the rest of the year.

Mind you, while BMW isn’t having the best of times, they are still the overall market leader by quite the margin and despite analysts worries, nobody is exactly expecting blinding deals from them by the end of the year.
