Bulgarian tuner Vilner are starting to get the hang of messing around with BMW products. They may be one of the newest tuners around, but that doesn’t seem to phase them.

The latest project they got involved with is one of the less familiar BMW products, the F800R motorcycle. The name of the new kit is quite familiar though.

It’s called the Predator which seems justified since it gets a makeover about as aggressive as the alien warrior that used to hunt down Arnie.

Other than making the BMW F800R more of a mean looking bike, they’ve also made it less practical, for the full bad boy effect.

Vilner have shortened the bike by 25 cm (roughly 10 inches) and turned into a single seater one. The seat was swapped out for a wider one.

Even though the number of passengers handled by the Vilner BMW F800R has gone down, it should actually be more comfortable.

That’s something that makes sense since Vilner designed the F800R Predator for a Russian business man who happens to be living in their home country.

He’s the one who wanted the new carbon fiber and chrome plated look and he’s the one who specified the newly designed front end.

Taste and practicality aside, it’s almost heart warming to see young car tuners tackle new projects that really stretches their imagination.

The only thing missing from the Predator BMW F800R is an updated engine output, that still stands at the factory spec 87 horsepower.

BMW F800R is the newest member of the BMW Motorrad’s F range and the main difference compared to the F800S or F800ST is that the new motorcycle which entered production in 2009 is a naked bike. This means that it gets rid of many accessories and components such as the windscreen or fairings, this type of bikes being also known as “standard”.

Even the BMW F800R shows no impressive features, the 798 cc two-cylinder engine is able to deliver 86 horsepower and 86 Nm of torque. These figures combined with a total mass of 177 kilograms enable the motorcycle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 222 km/h.

The German company also announced that the quarter-mile time is rated at around 12,3 seconds while the braking distance from 110 km/h to 0 takes 56 meters.

BMW fitted the F800R with LED turn signals, heated grips, lowered suspension, engine spoiler, trip computer and antilock brakes. In the front, the model gets a twin-disc 320 mm Brembo braking system while in the back is a single disc with a diameter of 265 mm.

The BMW F800R has been introduced in 2006 by Chris Pfeiffer, BMW also launching a special edition of this bike in honor of Pfeiffer.

In august, we talked about the reintroduction of the BMW F650 GS on the US market. Now, it’s time to discuss about the 2009 BMW F800R. The motorcycle will appear in two versions. One has a 798cc twin with 87bhp at 8,000 rpm and the other, gentle version will be limited to 25bhp.

The BMW F800R is quite similar to the F800 special, at least in the appearance department. Unlike most BMW Motorcycle of this kind, the F800R will be powered with the help of a chain drive. The people from BMW had a special treat for motorcyclists everywhere: the 2009 BMW F800R will be available with a lot of accessories: on-board computer, heated grips, anti-theft system and you can even opt for a sport windshield.
