There have been a lot of important transformations in BMW`s lineup, especially in the 1- and 2-Series, all starting with 2015, when some of the models received a lot of updates that would differentiate them from the previous generation.

It is also the case of the 1-Series` 135i, which became the present 140i model, starting with the same year. This meant a life cycle with significant modifications in terms of design and performance under the hood.

Besides the much wider chassis, also underpining the 2-Series M240i, the M140 came with a facelifted styling, with the new body parts making the model much more appealing and aggressive at the same time. The top of the crop was its high-performance exhaust system which made the engine growl extremely impressive.

In terms of performance, the BMW 1-Series 140i received some upgrades as well, all squeezed from the same N55 M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder pot, with 340 horsepower and impressive 500 Nm of torque.

All the power is sent to the rear axle via a high-performance eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. However, with the new xDrive 140i, the model can run the same straight line in 4.4 seconds, which makes it quite equal in front of the BMW M2 Coupe, with 4.3 seconds.

Slowly but surely, the technicians from the German based tuner AC Schnitzer are taking things to a whole new level concerning their tuning projects carried out on different BMW products; and we have seen lots of hot rides receiving exquisite goodies in the engine department.

The tuner`s latest program involves the new born star from BMW, the all-new M2 Coupe, the model being highlighted in a video, with a professional driver behind the wheel, pushing the pedal to the metal for an extremely aggressive engine growl.

As expected, the engineers have started their program by fitting the M2 Coupe with a bunch of visual parts, all part of a carbon fiber aero kit. The car`s most important bits refer to carbon fiber front splitter and carbon front side wings, carbon mirror cover, rear roof and prominent rear wing, all made from PU Rim or carbon fiber composite materials. The cabin has also been tweaked with sporty materials, special floor mats, sport pedals, new gear and handbrake knobs.

Next, the engineers from AC Schnitzer have demonstrated their professional skills by installing a number of new mechanics, which contribute to the car`s new performance under the hood. We are looking here at new alloy wheels, RS adjsutable suspension kit and lowering springs, which lower the car`s ride height by 35 mm.

Finally, to cope with such tremendous power, the model has also received a bespoke valve-controlled exhaust system, new intercooler, ECU remapping and a few more. The famous exhaust system builder Akrapovic has managed to equip the BMW M4 F82 sportscar with an outstanding exhaust system.

The Akrapovic builder has also launched a video and some photos with the BMW M4 F82 model showing the sportscar bearing the exhaust system in some “different tips and color scheme”.

The color range and the exhaust system itself was customized so that the BMW M4 F82 would use it while being on tracks, meaning that the system is lowered than an average one.

The exhaust system seen on the BMW M4 F82 tweaked by Akrapovic comes in two versions, meaning with a stainless steel system one and a lightweight titanium version with some carbon tips.

The video is also showing a look at the BMW M4`s decibels and tone while revving the engine.

The Akrapovic exhaust system builder has also tweaked a whole lot of other BMW models, like the F30 335i, the sportscar receiving an exhaust system with two central link pipes and carbon fiber tailpipes.

The tuning scene available for the BMW X6 is growing ever bigger and the latest “actor” to revise a part he’s playing on it is German tuner Lumma Design.

The “act” Lumma Design has put together is quite impressive and is based on a BMW X6 xDrive50i eventually being called the CLR X 650 M.

The recently revised CLR X 650 M gets a power output increase up to a whopping 670 horsepower and a maximum torque of 627 lb-ft. To have a sense of perspective you can relate to these figures as a 20 percent increase in horsepower and a 25 percent increase in torque when compared to the standard BMW X6 M. And that isn’t exactly what you’d call sluggish is it?

The improvement comes from a new high-performance exhaust system, finished with quad tailpipes. Top speed for the Lumma Design CLR X 650 M now reaches 194 mph. Imagine that, something which a few years ago supercars were struggling to achieve, the 200 mph holy grail, is close to being done nowadays by something that’s almost a SUV.

On the visual front, the old X 650 M was always an aggressive car but now it’s getting difficult to tell that this originated from a neighborhood variety BMW X6. The modifications include a revised rear skirt and wing, three-section front spoiler with daytime LED runners, flared fenders, upgraded side-sills, a new carbon and Kevlar hood.
