Even if the E90 BMW M3 has been pulled off from the production line, making room for the present E80 M3, the model is still a preferred one amongst BMW petrol heads who really want to taste the power of an old-fashion and iconic model.

And the California-based EAS tuner really know how to handle such a model, this E92 BMW M3 seen here wearing the Lime Rock Edition package, receiving some special visual tweaks.

This is also one of the limited 200 units ever to be produced, the model coming with numbered plaque and the limited edition decals.

The E92 BMW M3 Lime Rock Edition comes with the exotic Fire Orange body wrap, along with some visual goodies. We might thus depict the M Performance front splitter, trunk spoiler, along with the one-off 19-inch Jet Black alloy wheels. The rear end is complemented by the Akrapovic exhaust system with carbon fiber tips.

Inside, the cabin has been also fitted with the M Performance Alcantara steering wheel with blue accents or the “M3 Lime Rock Park Edition, Created in Limited Numbers by BMW M GmbH, ONE of 200”, on the center console.

A 2013 E92 BMW M3 Sedan model has been specially customized for the Nurburgring tracks, the racing upgrades being carried out by the small German tuning KBR Motorsport.

This newly customized E92 BMW M3 belongs to the tuner`s CEO Christian Kreher, who is a real BMW petrol head and a fanatic of the Nurburgring races.

The aftermarket specialists from the KBR Motorsport division have transformed this 2013 BMW M4 into a real beast, the model receiving a remapped ECU, which raises the car`s power from the stock 415 horsepower to a good 451 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.

Apart the ECU remapping, the E92 BMW M3 has also received a new x-pipe, rear silencer, new braking system with the KW Clubsport coilovers, adjustable top mounts, the new Endless brake discs and pads, as well as the high-performance and lightweight BBS Competition alloy wheels wrapped with the Pirelli Trofeo rubbers.

Inside, the cabin of this 2013 E92 BMW M3 has been also modified to cope with the high demands on the Ring, meaning a new full roll cage, racing front seats, or the carbon fiber panels.

Drag races have become a common thing amongst drivers or auto magazines that want to test out hot rides and compare their performance on a straight line. The latest race was set out by Auto Express online magazine and involves the E84 BMW M4, the E92 BMW M3 and the Audi RS5. The performance figures of the three of them have been also provided at the end of the article.

But why not first have look at each car`s performance in order to place our bets on the best model. Even if the performance of a model may not reflect its true value on the track, it`s worth knowing its performance figures and compare it with other models.

The previous generation E92 BMW M3 is packing the famous 4.0-liter S65 V8 engine, with 420 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, allowing it 4.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

On the other hand, the E84 BMW M4 is taking its power from a 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged unit, with 425 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, hooked to a seven-speed DCT gearbox. This allows it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

Last but not least, the Audi RS5 is coming with a massive 4.1-liter V8 engine, outputting 450 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, sending the power to all wheels via a seven-speed gearbox. It takes only 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

In the drag race, the BMW M4 needed 14.03 seconds to finish, the E92 BMW M3 came third with 14.55 seconds, while the Audi RS5 won the race with just 19.95 seconds.

I get shivers down my spine whenever I get to see an E92 BMW M3 receiving some new aftermarket wheels that will transform it into a real racing car and give it a unique and astonishing looks.

It is also the case of this gorgeous E92 BMW M3 which has received some special wheels from the Vorsteiner tuning division, called the V-FF 103 wheels. They are sized 19×9.5 and 19×10.5 front and rear and are made from carbon graphite.

Surely that the body style of the M3 can allowed the fitting of such wide and impressive wheels, but that wouldn’t be enough without any slight changes carried out at the body, like the fitting of the GTRS7 aggressive front bumper, the GTS-V rear diffuser as well as the new coupe boot lid, all signed by Vorsteiner. And the overall work is absolutely gorgeous.

European Auto Source have recently made wonders with two BMW M3 models, both the F80 and the E92 receiving some minor changes at the body, along with the fitting of a lowering kit, which provides a spectacular look. Surely, that the Black Sapphire exterior finish complements the entire body work.

Concerning the performance under the hood, there have been no mods carried out, as the new generation F80 and E92 BMW M3 are already coming with some increase in throttle and performance. Both BMW M3 models are now fitted with the BMW TwinPower Turbo engine, and the results are visibly as opposed to the previous generation.

Both models are still making use of the 3.0-liter engine, now fitted with BMW TwinPower Turbo configuration, which develops 420 horsepower, thanks to which it now reaches 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds, at a topping of 250 km/h, and that in the F80 BMW M3.

On the other hand, the E92 BMW M3 still uses the naturally aspirated V8 unit, which can accelerate up to 8,300 rpm. This is why the S65 V8 has received the International Engine of the Year 2008-2012 award. And according to some auto publications, this particular model is faster than the F82, records showing 3.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, with the DCT. After the slight modifications, the guys from the EAS tuning division have also made a short photo session with the two BMW M3s.

There are no official tests to test how rapid is the newly unveiled 2015 BMW X6 M on the track, but according to Auto Sport, the model is considered as fast as the E92 BMW M3.

The conclusions were reached after the 2015 BMW X6 M has run over 8,000 kilometers on the Nurburgring, which makes it equal to the BMW E92 M3.

The 2015 BMW X6 M thus run the Nurburgring-Nordschleife in a good 8:24 minutes, while the E92 M3 managed 8:04 minutes, which will make the F86 X6 M 20 seconds faster than the previous model.

The performance is also due to the SUVs weight, as Herbert Bayerl, the project manager at BMW, states that the 2015 BMW X6 M is just 2,275 kg, which would easy compete the lighter E92 M3, with its 1,700 kilos.

The record lap held at Nurburgring belongs however to the Range Rover Sport SVR, running 8:14 minutes, a good timing which BMW says it managed to overcome it many times.

Vorsteiner decided to restyle the E92 BMW M3 by fitting it with the GTRS3 bodykit. At the exterior, the German high-performance model comes with a special blue exterior finish, revised bumpers, side skirts and large air intakes.

The new front fenders, air vents and lip spoiler also improve the look of model, some of them also contributing to a better cooling for the engine or brakes.

The wide arch quarter panels really give some muscle to the E92 BMW M3 with the rear diffuser adding to the model’s stance too. The black alloy wheels with the new wide tires complete the look.

As mentioned above, Vorsteiner’s package includes only visual tweaks, therefore, power is offered by the stock 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 414 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.

Pricing and availability details on the E92 BMW M3 by Vorsteiner were not released yet. We do know one thing though, only 100 units will be built.

We all enjoy a nice drag race, and if you are a BMW enthusiasts, chances are that when a Bimmer beats another brand, you immediately display a smile.

But what happens when both sides of the confrontation sport a model from the German car maker? Who do you root for?

The video below will give the chance to find out exactly that. And to make sure it’s harder still, both BMW models are M3s, albeit different generations. This drag race was arranged between the older E46 BMW M3 and the relatively new E92 BMW M3.

In stock form, guessing the winner would not be that hard, but, as luck would have it, both of these cars have see some work done to them, and now develop some impressive amounts of power. The newer E92 BMW M3 churns out some 711 Hp, and if you think that is a lot, keep in mind that the E46 BMW M3 is actually more powerful, with 800 Hp under the hood. Luckily, power isn’t everything in a drag race.
