Every unit that comes out BMW’s assembly lines is presumed to be a high quality premium vehicle, keeping true to the heritage the car maker built over the years.

And I can say this with a certain certainty, as anyone watching the company closely, can see all the high praise coming its way from various sources.

The latest comes from Consumer Reports magazine, which took upon themselves to do 10 tops, placing various vehicles in their well deserved place of the class. And the BMW X1 managed to get number 1 in the Luxury/Large SUV category. The version in question is the X1 xDrive28i.

This is an yearly top that Consumer Reports publishes, and it takes into consideration several factors like performance, reliability and overall costs. There is nothing wrong with the parameters used, but more user input could have been used. After all, for all the innovations a car brings to the table, it will always be as good as the driver thinks it is.
