A few days ago, BMW published a teaser image with a 100% recyclable concept, made entirely of secondary materials or renewable raw materials. Its name is i Vision Circular and it is built on the architecture of Neue Klasse “according to the four principles of the circular economy: Re: Think, Re: Duce, Re: Use, Re: Cycle.”

The prototype announces a compact BMW for 2040 that can be admired at the stand of the Bavarian manufacturer at the Munich Motor Show.

The front has been much simplified, in terms of the number of pieces here. We have a grid interpreted as a digital surface, which incorporates the headlights, the brand logo and the car emblem are laser engraved to avoid the use of additional leather.

The windshield and the ceiling form a single piece, and the rims with thin spokes and the smoky-looking glass tailgate, which integrates the taillights, complete the package.

Inside, the dashboard and steering wheel were 3D printed, and the multimedia system display was moved to the base of the windshield.

The upholstery of the seats is made of recycled plastic and is fixed in an aluminum frame. The seats are supported on a base with one thin leg.

As I said, the BMW i Vision Circular remains, at least for now, at the concept stage.

The Z4 is dead, long live the Z4, in a complete configuration from all aspects. At least this is how the future BMW Z4 can be described in just a couple of words. The Bavarian carmaker announced the arrival of the extremely sexy and appealing new Z4 for this year`s Paris Motor Show, in October.

Now, we have the chance to see the BMW Z4 taking shape in concept form and slowly making its way onto the market towards the second half of the year.

BMW representatives have also officially confirmed that “the new car will be shown at the Paris Motor Show too, but currently the plan is to show it at its own dedicated event before then.”

As a reminder, BMW and Toyota revealed their plans to create two exceptional models in a joint venture, a couple of years ago, with technology and visual tweaks comprising both the new Z4 and the Supra models.

However, there will be some characteristics that will separate the two models. First, the Supra will arrive as a coupe model, while the new Z4 will be offered only in a roadster form. Next, there are also chances that the new Z4 will feature a manual transmission as optional, while going for the standard automatic along with the Supra as well. These things remain to be unveiled later on this year.

As for engine lineup, the 2019 BMW Z4 is likely to come with a wide range of four- and six-cylinder engines. One of them was officially confirmed and involves the entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 200 horsepower, and offered in Europe or Australia.

In the United States, the 2019 Z4 will be offered in its cheapest form with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 250 horsepower, or a higher 3.0-liter turbo straight-six cylinder engine, with power ranging between 340 – 390 HP.

Once arriving on the market, the 2019 BMW Z4 Roadster will compete against the likes of Jaguar F-Type, Porsche 718 Boxster or Mercedes-Benz SLC.

Without a doubt, the future has been an interesting problem for all of us. As most of the ideas regarding our future become reality, our attention turns to the improvement of those ideas. Such is the case of BMW’s autonomous car concept. While the main point of such a vehicle is to function without a driver, the Bavarian manufacturer is convinced that creating such a vehicle without the necessary accessories to also allow full control of the vehicle if need be is a great mistake.

This is definitely an idea that needs to be debated. While most people would probably feel safer if they had an alternative to control the car themselves, could the same safety net prove to be a major flaw in the safety of the car? What if somebody touches the controls by accident and creates a dangerous situation for the passengers? Regardless, BMW is sure that all autonomous vehicles should sport a control override mechanism. As far as their future plans go, all autonomous BMW cars will include a steering wheel and control pedals.

At this point the question is if there are major differences between autonomous cars that will include an override mechanism and those that will not. While the best experiment in such a situation would be to wait, see and compare two models that fit the description, in theory the autonomous vehicles that will include an override mechanism will probably prove to be superior, in regards to safety, to those that will not. No matter how you look at it, BMW has brought to light an important issue in the development of autonomous vehicles. While a general answer is yet to be provided, BMW has already made up its mind in regards to the general safety provided by autonomous vehicles.

Without a doubt, the future in which autonomous cars will roam the streets of all roads in the world is not far. Having this in thought, it is important for us to ask the right questions in regards to how the development of the autonomous technology should take place. BMW seems to have done so and has already discovered some answers regarding the safety such a vehicle should provide by default. All that remains for us is to wait and see how all these findings will affect the future development of autonomous cars.

When you think of BMW, you think of the perfect balance between performance and comfort. The Bavarian automaker’s vehicle models are known around the world. Targeting different markets and different tastes, BMW’s vehicles are spread around the whole world. It is no surprise that at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, BMW, like always, has come prepared to steal the show with the launch of new car models as well as performance upgrades. What nobody anticipated was BMW’s decision to show the world an 8 Series based concept car.

The first thing people want to know is how this concept actually looks. Is it going to b a futuristic, never destined for production, model? Is it a preview of something we will see in the future on the streets? Indeed, the concept will offer the world a sneak peek into the future of one of BMW’s car models. It will be interesting to see what gadgets it will be fitted with and what the engine that powers the vehicle looks like. Other interesting matters to see regarding this BMW concept will be to see the evolution of the design path for the Bavarian automaker.

Without a doubt, BMW will once again steal the show with the announcements it will make at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It will be interesting to follow the evolution of the show itself with comparisons between the event before and after BMW’s announcements. Regardless of how you look at the situation, BMW’s concept is probably one of the most interesting announced surprises at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Everybody is looking forward to the start of the show and to the announcements BMW has to make. With a steadily growing fan base, this is no surprise.

The only certain thing is that BMW will release further information regarding what it will display at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The Bavarian automaker will give details about the mystery concept car as well. At this point, one can only wait and see. Of course, speculations are being made, however, these are not to be taken in account, as they have not been confirmed by an official source. Following a series of rendered and leaked images a couple of days ago, the long-expected 2018 BMW 8-Series Concept, which is going to lead the way for a production coupe in the next 12 months, has been finally unveiled at the Concorso d`Eleganza Villa d`Este with a highly-futuristic and aggressive design.

Speaking of a production model arriving in 2018, Harald Kruger, BMW CEO, has also confirmed the good news, stating that:

“The number 8 has always represented the pinnacle of sports performance and exclusivity at BMW. The forthcoming BMW 8 Series Coupe will demonstrate that razor-sharp dynamics and modern luxury can go hand-in-hand. This will be the next model in the expansion of our luxury-car offering and will raise the benchmark for coupes in the segment.”

As we can see from the pictures we have got so far with the concept, the future 8-Series production model is going to borrow plenty of its body styling elements, the next-gen coupe being a real inspiration for other manufacturers in terms of design and technoogy.

As CEO design Adrian van Hooydon describes, the concept comes with a ”full-blooded high-end driving machine”, with ”powerful sculpted” sections around the body, adding as well an aggressive front fascia with huge twin-kidney grille and slender headlights. Other standout visuals refer to rakish windscreen, long bonnet with massive wheel arches, or the massive brake discs and gold calipers that aggressively highlight the 21-inch alloy wheels. As for the rear end, this section comes with a sloping roofline and an aggressive rear bumper with dual exhaust system.

Inside, the main focus is on technology with the new digital instrument cluster and iDrive display, adding as well a modern design with sporty features, highlighted by the high-end materials like carbon-fiber trims, red-anodised paddle shifters and more. The cabin also received sports seats with carbon-fiver shell, bespoke hand-polished aluminum spokes, and much more.

Standing on the CLAR platform like most of the recent models from BMW – the 5- or the 7-Series, the 2018 BMW 8-Series production model is rumored to come with a wide range of engines fitted on the so called variants like the 825, 830, 835, 850, 845, 860, as well as a top of the line M8 and M850. In the M8, we might expect a massive 6.6-liter V12 engine, with 601 horsepower and 799 Nm of torque. We should expect full details in the upcomin period.

There are often times when we literally forget paying our respects to long-forgotten and iconic models that stand at the very basis of what we have today in the auto industry, and has inspired others to become better and better every day.

Such an iconic built that used to make our delight back in the 1970s is the one-and-only E25 BMW Turbo, built in just two models and destined for the 1972 Olympics. The model was recently highlighted by Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.

At that time, such an extraordinary concept was out of its time, the 1972 BMW Turbo coming with an exceptionally-advanced and futuristic design and highlighted by the state-of-the-art aerodynamics and safety features.

A real inspiration for the development of other high-tech models of the 70s, the E25 Turbo came out with lots of gadgetries, like radar system which warned drivers of the tight curbs ahead, futuristic cabin, front and rear section filled with foam to absorb impact, and much more, which were considered at that time out of the ordinary and Sci-Fi.

As aforementioned, it later became a real inspiration for other BMW models, like the already iconic M1, with the design language also inspiring the future 8-Series. Overall, it was an amazing concept built to last, like all BMW models.

Under the hood, the E25 BMW Turbo Concept packed a massive turbocharged with 276 horsepower achieved at a mind-blowing 7,100 rpm. This would also allow a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, at a top speed of 250 km/h.

We live in a world where human imagination exceeds all boundaries and where, with the help of technology, our mind can create or recreate extraordinary machines that could make our lives better and better in the future.

Such an extraordinary machine, especially in the auto industry, is the BMW M1 Shark Concept, envisioned by render artist Alex Imnadze, and is presented in the first drawings below.

We are looking here practically at one of the most futuristic BMW model ever envisioned so far…at least, in my humble imagination.

It is extremely aggressive, comes with an imaginably wide body kit, futuristic design and advanced aerodynamics.

Surely, the artist had to take its inspiration from other outstanding BMW concepts as well, including the BMW M1 Concept, the Gina Concept as well as the 1970 Stratos Zero prototype from Bertone. Also, at a closer look, you could also depict some styling at the front with inspiration from the Vision Next 100 Concept as well.

And we could still be dreaming about the future, where this model would perfectly fit with its ultra-futuristic approach. Just by admiring it, we could imagine it flying into the sky or automatically parking without a driver behind the steering wheel.

But who knows, sketches like these could actually inspire BMW in creating such an extraordinary machine in the upcoming future, especially since the German carmaker has the know-how, the latest technology at its disposal and the most skilled engineers. And I`m 100 percent positive that we will hear more about this exquisite BMW M1 Shark Concept. Until then, keep on dreaming and admiring the extraordinary media gallery below!

BMW launched the BMW X2 Concept at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, which is said to spawn the future generation of the X2 SUV, recently spied on shots while undergoing tests outside Munich.

As we can depict from the spy photos, the test-mule is wearing less camouflage around the body which allows for a deeper-in analyses concerning the design it will come with.

As expected, it will wear the overall look of the X2 Concept, yet it will also come with its own looks that will bring it closer to the X1.

The prototype reveals the much wider body style with large kidney grille and air intakes, revised headlights, upper bumper-mounted fog lamps, new taillights, all of them increasing the SUV`s aggressive look.

Inside, the cabin will also borrow some design lines from the present X1 but will share however the technology envisioned in the Concept. Other element make reference to the 2-Series Active Tourer as well. Amongst the top features we should mention the BMW`s ConnectedDrive system, head-up display, plethora of gadgetry and applications, adding the finest materials all around the cabin and so forth.

In the engine department, the all-new BMW X2 SUV will come with a wide range of gasoline burners and diesels, with front- and all-wheel drive configuration. Once it will emerge on the market, the new SUV will take on the likes of the new Audi Q3, Range Rover Evoque or the Mercedes-Benz GLA. Full details and pricing tags will be known somewhere next year, meanwhile, enjoy the spy photos with the future X2!

BMW announced a mega line-up of new models arriving by 2021 with the main emphasize on two concepts, the new X2 Concept officially launched about a month ago and arriving in production guise in 2018, as well as the newly spied 8-Series arriving somewhere in 2019.

The same BMW has also released a new media gallery with the magnificent 2018 BMW X2 Concept, which highlights the SUV`s evolutionary and imposing design.

Even if it comes with the carmaker`s new philosophy in terms of visuals and main styling bits from the new X1, the X2 Concept also comes with its own personality, starting with the front and ending with the rear.

The model`s front is highlighted by the later center air intake under the kidney grille, while the rear is dominated by the dark cladding under the rear apron, which accentuates the much slicker feel, all these separating it from the all-new BMW X1.

But the styling details don’t stop here, as the 2018 X2 will arrive with a sportier and more aggressive roofline, short overhang, upright kidney grilles and huge headlights, all increasing its personality. Even if much of the details inside are not unknown at the moment, we think that it will boast with the latest technology, like semi-autonomous driving, gesture control and much more, all already found on the newly-presented 2017 BM 5-Series Sedan.

In the engine department, the X2 production version will boast with the company`s new three- and four-cylinder turbo engines, some of them destined for Europe and some for the United States. In Europe for instance, the new X2 will come with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline and a six-speed manual coming standard, shortly followed by a 2.0-liter diesel, while the US market will get the top of the line B48 turbocharged flat-four gasoline.

BMW customers worldwide not only get to enjoy the plethora of high-end models but also have the pleasure of testing out the latest concept bikes from the carmaker`s Motorrad division.

The 2016 EICMA taking place this week is gathering the latest motorcycle concepts and racers and BMW Motorrad will also be present with its most recent creation, the all-new HP-4 Race concept bike, in an effort to show the world that BMW is also attempting to build the most advanced bikes in terms of performance and manufacturing.

And indeed, what is so innovative about the all-new BMW HP-4 Race concept is that it is built entirely out of carbon fiber components. More than that, the wheels as well are made from the same materials, which sets a new benchmark in the biking segment.

And what better way to portray such an exquisite concept than releasing a short teaser video which shows everything we need about the new bike.

And even if the details are quite limited at the moment, we still could get our hands on bunch of news concerning its powertrain under the hood. We might be looking here at a 1000c inline four-cylinder engine with around 200 horsepower, adding the latest components and the right price.

Once released on the market somewhere next year, the BMW HP-4 Race will be a limited-run and will sit above the present S 1000 RR. Until further details, enjoy the teaser and the bunch of photos with the upcoming racer.
