Up until now, there weren’t too many info or photos to highlight the China-based 2017 BMW 1-Series Sedan, which was slotted for an official debut in July.

It was recently that BMW announced the availability of the new 1-Series Sedan built exclusively for the Chinese market, the model being also expected for an official debut at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show, starting this November, with sales to start earlier next year.

China-based Autohome has provided the first batch of photos with the all-new Chinese 1-Series, the model coming with similar design features as the US sibling brother.

However, the 1-Series Sedan in China will be different than the Europe-based version. This means that it will be 4,456 mm long, 1,803 mm wide, 1,446 mm tall, while the wheelbase will stand at 2,670 mm, overall making it longer than the E36 3-Series.

The 2017 Chinese BMW 1-Series Sedan will also underpin the company`s UKL architecture, fitted with a front- and all-wheel drive layout, the same architecture also found on the BMW X1, 2-Series Gran Tourer or MINI models.

Under the hood, the architecture will allow the fitting of a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline three-cylinder engine in the 118i, with 136 horsepower, while the 120i would receive a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline flat-four, with 192 horsepower. Finally, the 125i would receive the same 2.0-liter but with a power output of 231 horsepower.

Once announced for the market, the 2017 1-Series Sedan will be built with Brilliance Auto, which is the German carmaker`s joint venture in Shenyang, China. Please find below the China-based 2017 1-Series Sedan.
