At the end of last year, there were a lot of rumors and reports stating that the upcoming BMW Z5 would be produced in partnership with Toyota, to create unique models, the joint venture consolidating thus their agreement first signed in 2012.

Recently, the all-new BMW Z5 has been spotted while undergoing some tests out in the snow, the test mule wearing heavy camouflage around the body style.

The BMW Z5 will enter the market as a 2018 YM and will replace the present Z4. In terms of styling, the hot ride will be larger than the Z4, and will stand on a platform that will be shared with Toyota`s new prototype.

As we can depict from the video spy below, the 2018 BMW Z5 is previewing a traditional long-bonnet and drawn-back cabin, long nose and rear overhangs. Also, the test mule is also showing the more prominent grilles and back headlights.

Stating recent reports, the 2018 BMW Z5 will be built in two versions, a hardtop and a softtop, both packing 2.0-liter turbocharged engines, plus a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder. All engines will come, as expected, with a rear-wheel drive.

On the other side, Toyota`s new hybrid will use BMW`s turbo engines paired to Toyota`s electric motor, the new model coming as well with an all-wheel drive.

The upcoming BMW Z5 Roadster was recently caught on a spy video while performing some last tests on the snow, before emergency onto the market next year.

We are dealing here with the spiritual successor of the gorgeous Z4, which will come with a folding soft top, instead of the former`s removable hard top. This also means a lowered center of gravity and reduced body weight.

The 2017 BMW Z5 Roadster will be built under the same platform as the Toyota`s Supra prototype, which means that it will come with updated design and increased performance.

Speaking about performance, the 2017 BMW Z5 Roadster is rumored to pack two turbocharged engines, like the entry-level 2.0-liter, with around 241 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

The second one would be a much more powerful six-cylinder engine, with an impressive 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The performance figures are rather poor at the moment, but stay tuned for fresh news on the exciting all-new Z5 Roadster!

BMW is on a constant move, building, customizing and perfecting its entire model lineup. And this summer, the German based carmaker has also announced some important changes for some of its latest models.

This means some makeovers under the hood, where BMW has perfected the performance art by developing the newly three- or the four-cylinder engines, which promise to deliver increase torque and improved fuel-efficiency.

Starting with July 2015, the carmaker will start offering the new BMW M235i xDrive Convertible model with the four-wheel drive configuration, the model being the first open-top model to fit such a drive configuration.

Moving further, BMW will also set some new standards in terms of technology inside, by providing the latest innovation in the Professional navigation system, while car safety features will also include the Parking Assistant, available on the BMW 3-Series and the BMW 4-Series.

On the other hand, the BMW 2-Series Gran Tourer will tweak the Multi-Collision Braking system as well as the Alertness Assistant, while the BMW 4-Series, BMW M4 Coupe, the M4 Convertible, the BMW 5-Series or the BMW Z4 will come with new exterior colors.

It is not every day you see the one-off BMW Z4 being transformed in something unique, as this model eventually ended up, thanks to the aftermarket specialists from the famous German AC Schnitzer tuning company.

I am talking about a bold project carried out on the BMW Z4, the model bearing the ACZ4 5.0d name in its final shape. It involves the sDrive23i version which has been completely customized in terms of performance under the hood.

In order to gain more power, the AC Schnitzer tuner have fitted the BMW ACZ4 5.0d with some cool performance features, like the better suspension system, sportier brakes, while the overall body weight has been also reduced, to improve driving dynamics and performance on the tracks or roads.

As for the engine under the hood, the AC Schnitzer have replaced the old-school 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and fitted the N57S 3.0-liter tri-turbo diesel engine, which now develops an increased 430 horsepower and impressive 840 Nm of torque. The higher performance is also given by the ECU remap, which made its way under the hood as well. With all this new power, the BMW ACZ4 5.0d is now capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, at a toping of 300 km/h.

The BMW ACZ4 5.0d seen here is perhaps the only one to be seen customized by the guys from the AC Schnitzer, the model coming at a whopping price of 113,965 euros. But be glad to see it on the streets in this shape, as the carmaker is planning of putting off the stock version, making room for a future BMW Z5.

BMW officially revealed the Z4 GTLM, a model that is inspired by the 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL, at least in terms of exterior styling. The livery is easily recognizable but maybe more important is that this model celebrates 40 years since the first victory at Sebring for BMW Motorsport.

BMW unveiled the Z4 GTLM at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance alongside the winners of the 1975 race. We talk about Brian Redman, Sam Posey and Hans-Joachim Stuck, who found this a good opportunity to unite again.

The current BMW Team RLL driver, Bill Auberlen, was the first one to drive the car around the circuit. If that was not enough, a couple of BMW Z4 GTRLM models will race at the 12-hour race of Sebring, an event which starts on March 21st.

“Jochen Neerpasch, the first managing director of BMW Motorsport GmbH, and BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt were also among the guests,” adds BMW.

The company also celebrates another important milestone as in 1975, only few days before the Sebring victory, BMW of North America was founded. With this been said, be sure to check the photo gallery with the new BMW Z4 GTLM in order to take a closer look.

The BMW Z4 which first saw the daylight in 2009 is now considered to be put off, as the German carmaker is reportedly planning a replacement, under the Z5 moniker.

Even if the Bavarian company has not yet confirmed these plans, some reports emerging on the web state that the so called BMW Z5 would come as the official replacement of the Z4 before 2020. The reason is pretty obvious: the Z4 was not that successful worldwide, as it was only sold out in just 5,300 units in Europe and 2,150 units in the United States, last year alone.

Another reason for dropping down the Z4 and make room for the Z5 moniker is the increasingly development of the “green cars” or of the lightweight material models, which would make them faster, less expensive and more fuel-efficient.

This is why the BMW Z5, even if it will not be the carmaker`s one of the highest priorities, it would come with lightweight materials, like carbon fiber on the roof and on other parts of the body.

More than that, there are also some sources inside BMW`s headquarters, stating that the future BMW Z5 will come with a “more radical front-mid-engine bias.”

This means that we would find a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine under the hood, with three powers: 190 HP, 245 HP and 270 HP, with the engines being hooked to a ZF 8-speed automatic or a six-speed manual.

The tuning specialists from Carlex Design decided to give a steampunk theme to the BMW Z4. The comprehensive tuning package comes with Alcantara upholstery and other types of leather.

Copper inserts can be found on the speaker grilles and steering wheel while the door handles, dashboard and roll bars behind the seats get some copper or brass inserts.

A new set of alloy wheels improve the exterior appearance while the matte black wrap mixes well with the revised roof which received the copper tint.

The two-color theme is present both at the interior and exterior. On the outside, the roof, wheels and front bumper inserts which got the copper finish contrast with the black wrap.

Inside, the theme continues with black leather seats and door panels mix with the copper accents on the steering wheel and dashboard. Pricing and availability details on Carlex Design’s BMW Z4 tuning kit were not released yet.

The BMW German luxury car manufacturer has issued a factory recall for its 2010-2012 models, which seems to have issued with its bolts.

The factory recall is available for particular vehicles being equipped with inline six-cylinder units, with around 156,130 being called back in factory all over the US.

The BMW dealerships all around the US will perform bolt fixes that hold the variable-camshaft timing unit housings in one place. Otherwise, there might be some chances of the bolts loosing or breaking.

Fortunately, in case of a bolt failure, the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light will appear, along with a message being displayed on the car`s dashboard.

BMW warns that the drivers would the affected cars should get to their dealerships immediately, even if there is a time limit for the car to drive around with the alarm light being switched on.

The BMW car manufacturer also states that if the company`s VANOS bolt system is beyond repair, than the engineers will switch the engine in order to be put on a safe-mode, until the parts will have been replaced.

BMW have already sent notifications to drivers owing 2010-2012 models for the 3-Series, 5-Series Sedan, 5-Series Gran Turismo, the X3, X5, X6 crossovers or the Z4 sports car.

It’s been a while now since the fact that BMW is working with Toyota has stopped being news, and after all this time, the results of this collaboration are still rather vague.

But today, an important bit of information has been uploaded, concerning a future BMW model.

Set to follow the current Z4, the new car will use the name Z3, but it will be lighter thanks to the use of lightweight materials. Speaking of which, it seems that everywhere we turn our heads, we hear more and more of the Bavarian car maker’s models will be using their already famous CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic). This can only mean that the much coveted material truly is becoming cost effective.

Moving on with the new Z3 model, the general idea of the styling will revolve around the BMW Vision Connected Drive concept, a rumor that has circulated for a bit. The configuration for the BMW Z3 will be as a front engine, rear wheel drive car, sporting a folding hard top. While BMW will be selling a roadster, Toyota will be making a coupe version, although we are not exactly sure how that will work.

The Germans at BMW released first photos and details on the Pure Fusion Design edition for the Z4. The company will present the model in world premiere at the upcoming North American International Auto Show but decided to let us get a closer look now.

At the exterior, the main attraction will be the special Sparkling Brown metallic finish with no other real modifications.

At the interior you will find the most tweaks, starting with Ivory White / Saddle Brown Nappa leather, brown stitching, perforated leather seats and Fineline wood trim.

“The equipment package known as Pure Fusion Design adds an exclusive aesthetic appeal to the sporty open-air experience,” says the company.

More details, photos as well as pricing and availability details will be released by the Bavarian company at the model’s debut in Detroit.
