Every year, car thieves have their own methods of picking up their favorite models and even if carmakers are constantly looking for new ways to prevent car theft, they can`t stop the ingenious thieves. In the UK, their number one model is no other than the BMW X5.

According to a new report issued by UK Tracker, it seems that the BMW X5 is the most stolen car in 2016, with three other BMW models topping the list.

Besides the BMW X5 which can be resold for good money, thieves also prefer stealing the Range Rover Sport, another outstanding SUV coming with a good price.

Third place is taken by BMW M3, with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class following shortly. The BMW`s 3-Series is number six, with the top 10 list continuing with the Range Rover Autobiography and Range Rover Evoque. Finally, the list closes up with the BMW 5-Series.

Compared to 2015, the last year`s most stolen cars in the UK is completely different, with the Tracker`s 2015 list being topped by the Audi Q7 and Audi RS4, which are now missing from the 2016 list.

Tracker head of police Andy Barrs, have also stated in an interview that “Our latest figures reveal a shift in the most desirable makes and models that thieves are stealing in order, but 4x4s remain the most popular type of vehicles.”

It remains to see which models thieves prefer this year, but with the plethora of high-end models arriving in Geneva in a couple of days, it will surely be an interesting and long list.

The tuning world is a wonderful and exciting world with aftermarket shops giving their best in providing the perfect cars with the perfect attitudes. And this becomes more exciting if a BMW product is involved in such making.

Lately, we have seen tens and tens of BMW M2s, M3s and M4s getting their share of aftermarket shops, and I personally would have become a little bit bored if it hadn’t been for this BMW X5 seen below, also coming with an exceptional new look, not given by a plethora of aero parts, but by the new set of wheels from Vossen Wheels tuner.

It`s all about the attitude, one might say, and in this case, the SAV`s attitude relies on the kind of wheels it is standing on; and what wheels they are.

We are looking here at the Vossen VPS-302 forged alloy wheels, with a split-five spoke, adding as well the Vossen centercaps with the logos. The wheels measure 22×10 up front and 22×12 at the rear, providing the X5 a greater stance and more aggressive looks.

As we are already familiar with the Vossen`s work, we know for sure that the tuner didn’t mess around with the car`s engine under the hood. This means that the model is still packing the same 4.4-liter with BMW`s M TwinPower Turbo technology, meaning a pure 575 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. This allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds, which is way too impressive than the smaller yet agile BMW M4. You can find out more in the media gallery below!

The BMW X7 is back into our spotlights in some new renderings signed by the folks over OmniAuto magazine, with some in-depth detailing concerning its official release and the powertrains it will come with under the hood.

According to OmniAuto, the BMW X7 is indeed confirmed for an official debut in 2019, the biggest SUV ever built by BMW, starting production in South Carolina, at Spartanburg plant.

Once it will emerge at its dealerships, the X7 will be available from at least $145,000 which is way too much than the 7-Series` entry-level price of $81,300.

As you probably know from our previous posts, the X7 will be previewed by the launch of the X5 flagship, also coming bigger and wider than the previous generation and underpinning the same CLAR platform as the future X7. Both models will come with extremely lightweight materials which will make them extremely spacious inside.

Speaking about size inside, the BMW X7 will be coming with a seven-seat displacement, followed by the most luxurious SUV ever offered, with just a four-seat arrangement. According to the same auto magazine, the rear passengers will have heating, ventilation and massaging functions, along with the most advanced entertainment systems available and equipped with navigation, audio and so on.

But perhaps the SUV`s main highlight would be the engine lineup it will come with, reports also mentioning the presence of a massive 6.6-liter V12 engine, also found on the 2016 BMW 7-Series. The V12 engine will join the others from the club, like the V8 and six-cylinder petrol burners and diesels, present on the future X5 as well.

Once it will emerge on the market, the BMW X7 will take on the Mercedes-Benz GLS or Land Rover Range Rover.

The upcoming BMW X5 is popping-up in our news again in a fresh batch of spy photos which showcase the model undergoing camouflaged tests on the Ring.

As we already know, the German based carmaker is preparing an all-new generation X5, after just three years from the SUV`s latest generation. The models is expected to hit the market somewhere next year, as a 2018 YM.

The test-mule seen here is wearing heavy camouflage, but we have already discussed the future body style that it will come with. We are dealing here with a redesigned and a more evolutionary design, the car being wider than the present generation and getting closer to its big brother, the upcoming BMW X7.

The new styling details might refer to updated front and rear bumpers with modified air intakes, new hood, reshaped headlights and taillights and more.

The 2018 BMW X5 is also reported to share the same CLAR platform with the upcoming BMW X7, indicating a mix of lightweight materials like carbon fiber and aluminum, which would make it 220 to 440 lbs lighter than the current X5.

Under the hood, the 2018 BMW X5 will come with a wide range of petrol burners and diesels, like a 3.0-liter inline flat-six engine along with a V8. As expected, the new X5 is also reported to spawn a plug-in hybrid version, following an electric SUV with a range of 31 miles. The BMW X5 is one of the most powerful SUVs the German based carmaker has ever built, the model coming with a standard 3.0-liter inline-six, with 300 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque, available between 1,200 rpm and 5,000 rpm.

The all-new BMW X5 and X7 are back into our spotlights again, the models being previewed in new interesting details before emerging on the market in a couple of years. The fresh details have been released by recent reports.

The reports come from Autocar and state that the BMW X5 will come with a much wider body style than the present generation, otherwise a miniature replica of the upcoming BMW X7.

Even if BMW launched the present BMW X5 around three years ago, the German company is already planning the introduction of a completely new version, which would arrive in a couple of years and sport most of the mechanics found on the future X7.

For instance, Autocar online magazine reported that the new X5 would share the same CLAR platform, also underpinning the future X7, making it the smaller wheelbase version of the latter.

Under the hood, the BMW X5 is also likely to borrow the engine lineup from the X7. We might be looking here at a 3.0-liter straight-six engine, a much more potent twin-turbo V8, as well as a 6.0-liter V12 topper. As expected, a hybrid version will also join the club.

As for the all-new BMW X7, the largest SUV ever built by the company, is also reported to come with two variants in terms of body styling, like a 4- and a 7-seater, the latter looking a little bit different from the first one. In the engine department, the X7 is said to “pick engines from the entire BMW range.”

It usually takes 5 to 8 years until an old model would be replaced by a new-generation, but in the case of the BMW X5, things are moving quite faster, as the Bavarian carmaker is reportedly planning to introduce the new SUV in early 2017.

The BMW X5 in its third generation was introduced around three years ago, but Marc Werner, BMW Group Australia managing director hinted at the idea that a new version might already be under serious tests and development.

Once it will emerge on the market, the all-new BMW X5 will ride on the company`s new CLAR platform, also found on the 206 BMW 7-Series. Werner also let us believe that the new X5 will have a short lifecycle, as it will be used as a base for the upcoming BMW X7. So far, the specs are hidden, but we surely expect fresh news in the upcoming period.

And while he was at it, when asked about the upcoming X7, Werner avoided to provide any further details about the biggest SUV BMW will ever built, but according to a new report, the model would be 1.6 feet longer than the present X5, also weighing around 4,188 pounds in its top configuration.

Still on the X7, the SUV is also expected to come with a wide range of powertrains, like a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder, a fresh new V8 and likely a topper 6.0-liter V12, fitted on the highest-end version. As expected, BMW X7 will also spawn a plug-in hybrid with a total of 31 mile range.

The BMW X5 xDrive40e plug-in hybrid is from the start the best version from the X5 lineup to comprise extremely low emissions and an efficient fuel-consumption. And in a world of motion, these two features are a must.

People are forced to commute every day around 20 miles and according to the company, this plug-in hybrid offers the best economy figures in a city or on the highway. The X5 is using the PHEV technology from the “i” range lineup to create the perfect balance between fuel efficiency and the lowest CO2 emissions.

As you are already familiar with, the BMW X5 xDrive40e is packing a 2.0-liter flat-four turbocharged engine with 245 horsepower, hooked to an electric motor which delivers an additional of 113 horsepower, raising the power to an overall 358 horsepower. The BMW X5 xDrive40e also comes with a combined fuel economy of 85.6 mpg, while the CO2 emissions stand at just 77g/km.

Another important fact is that an average daily commute of 37 miles, with the battery fully charged, can be completed with no problems, what`s so ever, the xDrive40e returning “no more than 43.5 mpg UK.”

According to carscoops.com the upcoming BMW X5 has been caught on shots while performing some tests on heavy snow, the test mule being fully camouflaged.

Even with the camouflage and thanks to some recent rumors, the 2018 BMW X5 will not come with significant changes at the body, but will feature some evolutionary design cues, which will be better observed when it will be released in the first official photos.

As expected, the all-new BMW X5 is also set to underpin the company`s new and high-performance CLAR (Cluster Architecture Platform), also found on the new X3, X6, 3-Series or 7-Series.

The CLAR consists of lightweight materials like aluminum, carbon-fiber and magnesium, which will reduce the car`s weight and increase its flexibility, maneuverability and performance.

Speaking about performance, the 2018 BMW X5 will feature a wide array of engines with four- and eight-cylinder configurations. A hybrid version is also expected later on.

We expect fresh details with the new BMW X5 after the model will be released out of the Spartanburg plant, in South Carolina, at the end of 2017.

With the recent diesel-emissions scandal from Volkswagen, which has affected millions of cars within the German Group, United States and Canada have enforced strict regulations concerning the diesel emissions tests within their territory.

Because of that, BMW postponed the launch of the 2016 X5 xDrive35d in the United States, the German carmaker still performing tests to comply with the EPA`s strict regulations.

But the German carmaker received good news from EPA last week, the Environmental Protection Agency giving the green light for the X5`s production at its plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, starting next month.

The 2016 BMW X5 xDrive35d is fully compliant with the Euro 6 emission standards, the model being equipped with a 3.0-liter inline flat-six turbocharged engine, developing 255 horsepower. The engine is hooked to an eight-speed manual transmission, which helps the car burn just 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

The EPA`s duty is to ensure that all diesel cars entering the United States and the Canadian market do not come with emissions-cheating software or other devices that would not comply with the EPA`s strict regulations.
