BMW is working on the new generation X3, the model standing on the new and flexible architecture, translated through more space inside and comfort for all its passengers. But the model is yet to arrive in 2017.

Until its arriving, the guys from the French publication L’Automobile have come up with their own interpretation of the 2017 BMW X3, the model arriving on the web in two renderings, which are showcasing it both from the front as well as from the rear.

For the moment, the 2017 BMW X3 is dubbed G01 and the two renderings are showing the model with a more aggressive body style, adjusted front fascia, upright nose, revised kidney grille, while the rear end is highlighting the L-shaped taillights, also seen on the present model.

Rumors also have it that BMW will also launch a longer wheelbase X3, which will be exclusively aimed for the Chinese market.

Moving under the hood, the 2017 BMW X3 is set to come with a wide array of four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel units, with a plug-in hybrid version to be launched as well, producing around 240 horsepower with the conventional engine and 95 horsepower with the electric motor.

Additionally, BMW might also release a BMW X3 M40i M Performance, which would produce 360 horsepower, while a higher BMW X3 M would arrive with the new twin-turbo inline-six with 422 horsepower, also seen on the BMW M3 and BMW M4.

Participating at a Photoshop contest, Theophilus Chin, a well-known name when it comes to automotive renderings, decided to imagine how the future BMW X3 SUV will look like. An interesting feature of the model in the renderings is the three-door body version, which, unfortunately or not, it is almost impossible to be achieved, not technical of course, but there is not very likely to see a three-door X3.

The future BMW X3 imagined by Theophilus Chin comes with more aggressive front optical blocks featuring angel eyes, a more proeminent front grille, large four-spoke alloy wheels, tinted windows and of course the three-door style.

In the rear the designer added a four-pipe exhaust system and a lip for the door of the trunk. The Germans from BMW did not made any statements on these renderings and the three-door body style still remains an untruthful option for the incoming BMW X3 SUV.
