It seems that BMW is on a roll, with plans to expand their vehicle lineup even further, this time focusing on the X range. Or so an inside source seems to claim.

The inside source with the German car maker points toward at least two more models, one of which will be sporting the moniker X2, and the very name should speak volumes for BMW enthusiasts.

Information released by the leak go ever deeper, with a launch date for the X2 set in 2015 and the BMW X2 will be using the same platform as the X1. It is a bit too good to be true, but then again BMW does seem to move faster these days, trying their best to keep up with competitors while still delivering new models and fresh technologies.

And if the eco trend continues at this pace, we should also expect some more hybrids or even full electric vehicles to come out of the manufacturer’s assembly line. Either way, with BMW’s rate of expansion, just two more models in the next two years doesn’t really seems that far fetched.

I really don’t know if this is good or bad news but it seems that BMW is truly developing a diesel version of the new M5 F10 while an all-wheel drive version could be in works too. According to the first details, the new BMW M550dX will be powered by a tri-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine able to reduce the fuel consumption while the power amount will be slightly decreased over the gasoline V8 unit, which means fewer than 560 horses.

The new BMW M5 diesel model will benefit from BMW’s Valvetronic system, direct injection and revised cylinder head. A BMW insider confirmed that the M5 diesel is currently under developing, this being a crucial decision as BMW never offered a diesel M model before.

If we accord more attention to the rumors, the new BMW 550dX will develop around 525 horses and 680 Nm of torque. Therefore, we have the confirmation that a diesel BMW M5 will be available soon, the BMW source claiming that we could expect to see the model at the Geneva Motor Show, next year.

He also said: “To handle that amount of torque and the potential in tire-spinning forces, you have to go to all-wheel drive, otherwise you’ll be spinning your tires all day.”

Ever since BMW has announced its concept car named Vision EfficientDynamics at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2009, the world began to think about the possibility of a car that does two things very well: looks outstanding and also has a very good fuel economy. And it’s getting near us.

Now, getting back at the present time, we got a piece of news that is sure to be of great importance. According to Ian Robertson, sales and marketing director for BMW, the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics is said to have a price tag of about 150,000 euros (around $200,000) when it will be launched. That kind of money doesn’t come by too often, but it will get you a car packing a three cylinder diesel hybrid that sports 328 hp and a huge 62.5 mpg fuel economy.

Unfortunately, there is no official launch date for the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics, although a few speculations could be made, as the German car manufacturer will be sponsoring the 2012 London Olympics and that could be a prime candidate for a debut. Either that or the year 2013, but we shall be looking for more info on that.

The news of the regarding the new M version of the BMW 1 Series Coupe have been flying around the Intertnet for some time because it is a very hot topic and every new information, photo or rumor is precious. And, unfortunately, the latest piece of news doesn’t bring too much hope for many people that would want to own one. Read more bellow.

Until we get to the meat of the subject, let us bring together the info we have until now, in case you missed the previous news. We know that the BMW 1 Series M Coupe will only be available with a manual transmission, to preserve the old school feeling. It will also have a N54 engine sporting 335 hp and three colors to choose from: Jet Black, Alpine White and Valencia Orange.

Now, the latest piece of news flying around on the Internet boards is the rumor that the 1 Series M Coupe will be limited to only 2,700 units. A large part of these cars will be heading to the United States, so those living there shouldn’t worry too much, at least not compared with the rest of the world.

If some time ago there were some rumors saying that BMW is going to build a front-wheel small car, well, as you can see, those rumors have been confirmed officially by BMW which is very cool because if you’re using your car more in the city, well, maybe this new future BMW product is going to be a perfect choice talking about the city cars.

With these confirmed rumors, there are coming up more little rumors like there may also be all-wheel-drive for this small car either that at the moment it is named the front-wheel future car from BMW.

Anyway, there is not going to be any rear-wheel drive so the BMW 1 Series will still remain the smallest rear-drive BMW because this future small car is probably going to be much smaller than the BMW 1 Series. I know that we have talked few times about BMW M1 and you were probably waiting that car to be released or to hear some news about it but as you can see what I wrote in the title, the BMW M1 was replaced by BMW 135is. I don’t think that the name of the car is so important, the important thing is the performance of the car.

The rumors are also saying that this BMW 135is is going to come with a twin-turbo six engine which will develop somewhere around 320 horsepower and a maximum torque of 332 pound-feet.

I remember we have talked about some spy photos with BMW M1 some time ago and it was looking exactly like this car from these photos so I guess that in reality it wasn’t BMW M1, instead it was this BMW 135is or at last this is what I think.
