BMW is continuing its campaign to promote the new M5 F10, a model officially scheduled to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. This time, the M version of the current 5 Series generation is presented while undergoing some high speed tests at the Nardò Ring in Italy.

Sadly, the new video teaser reveals no new information on the total output of the high performance German model but it seems that will get all the interesting information ahead the Frankfurt debut. To be more precise, the Bavarians somehow indicate us that the model will be unveiled at the M Festival which will take place between June 23 and 26th.

According to the details available at the moment, the new M5 F10 will be powered by a reworked version of the S63 engine that fits the current M versions of the X5 and X6. Therefore, the 2012 BMW M5 is rumored to deliver around 570 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque from the 4.4-liter V8 twin-scroll unit. With these resources, the V8 propeller should help the new M5 F10 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4,5 seconds while the top speed will exceed 300 km/h as we can see from the following video.

In terms of transmissions, BMW will fit the M5 with a seven-speed M Drivelogic and Start/Stop system while the U.S. customers will benefit from a manual gearbox as optional. Even if for BMW, M means power, the new M5 seems to be also focused on fuel consumption even the main purpose of the model over the standard 5 Series is to offer increased performance.

Therefore, the German model will be able to offer an increased fuel efficiency of 25% compared to the standard S63 engine. This means that the revised V8 is designed to offer both increased performance and fuel efficiency even you would expect to see the Germans avoid the efficiency problem of the BMW M5. With this been said, we are looking forward to find more about the long-awaited M5 F10 in the coming weeks at the M Festival but since then we can have yet another look. We are wondering how many teasers will be released by BMW until the final reveal at Frankfurt.

BMW continues promoting the new M5 F10 with a new video revealing the M version of the current 5 Series being tested at the Miramas track in the south of France. At first, I hoped that the prototypes in the video dropped the camouflage wear but sadly some parts of the aerodynamic package are still covered.

However, the video featuring BMW’s new M model wants to underline the performance of the vehicle on the track. Under the bonnet, the new BMW M5 F10 fits a 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine developing around 590 horsepower together with a special DCT seven-speed gearbox from the M division.

The Bavarians succeeded to reproduce a variety of driving conditions from a dry and clean track to a wet surface and from round and straight road to steep hills and tight corners.

Undoubtely, Sweden is the favourite place for all the big car manufacturers to test their models in extreme conditions. If few months ago BMW released a raw footage with the same M5 F10 prototype in the same frozen lands, today, the British journalists from EVO released a video where Chris Harris was having a good time behind the steering wheel of the new M model from BMW.

The video has been shot in Arjeplog, Sweden, and features a pre-production version of the new M5, most probably a similar version to the one revealed at Shanghai but however wearing a camouflage layer.

The frozen lake proved to be a good opportunity for the British journalist to test how the new M model behaves on ice. In the beginning he also claims that he got an one kilometer frozen lake and a 550-horsepower BMW M5 which means that it’s time for some drifting.

As a conclusion, Chris Harris says that Frankfurt Auto Show reveal is very awaited and the success of the new BMW M5 F10 it’s inevitable.

From the start we have to tell you that we are not encouraging this kind of behavior while driving on public roads especially at high speeds.

We talked several times about the new BMW M5 F10, first time when some photos hit the Internet from a private event held in Munich, then the Germans released the official details and also yesterday when we had the opportunity to see the interior thanks to some journalists from Shanghai.

This time, we got a video starring the BMW M5 F10 prototype while doing some tests on a German highway. Nothing unusual since now but the shocking part is that the video is shot by a driver of an older M5 E60 who forced its vehicle just to overcome the newer M5.

The driver almost hit 300 km/h but nothing is illegal as he was running on a piece of Autobahn where is no speed limit. Of course, driving at this speed and filming yourself it’s a very risky job, thus, this is a negative example and we are not promoting this kind of behavior.

The premature leak of the new BMW M5 F10 forced the Germans to officially introduce the new M model based on the current 5 Series generation. Scheduled to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show, the appearance of the new M5 F10 gets revealed through the photo gallery while some of the important details are still unknown.

The Bavarians recently revealed a video promoting the new BMW M5 F10. The model is being tested on snow somewhere in Europe and it is almost ready for the debut scheduled for the Shanghai Auto Show. The fifth generation M5 packs almost the same V8 unit that is currently available for the M versions of X5 and X6.

More exactly, a 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine provides power for the German sports car while a seven-speed DCT dual clutch transmission takes care of the rest. The V8 engine is able to develop up to 592 horsepower, thus, we talk about a slightly revised unit comparing to the one found under the bonnet of X6 M.

The Germans surprised the European customers a little when they announced that the new BMW M5 F10 is very likely to debut at a non-european auto show. Somehow, paying more attention to the Chinese market is perfectly understandable considering that BMW is the most coveted brand in China, according to a survey made by Clear Asia.
