With the recent launch of the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, everybody was expecting an M4 Gran Coupe version coming this fall, based on the statements that Norbert Reithofe, the CEO at BMW, had launched on a press release.

To further confirm the misinterpretation of Reithhofe, Jorg Bartels, the M sales boss from BMW, also declared in Australia during the launch of the M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe, that the company would not built an M version of the 4-Series Gran Coupe.

The reason of not building an M4 Gran Coupe version was due to the massive production volume of the 4-Series Gran Coupe, as the model is built “in a different factory to both the 3 Series (sedan) and 4 Series (coupe), so there is a lot of challenges there,” to also quote Bartels.

The F30 3-Series Sedan and the fresh F80 M3 Sedan are being built at the BMW`s plant in Regensburg, while the F32 4-Series Coupe and the F82 M4 are being manufactured in Munich.

On the other hand, the BMW F36 4-Series Gran Coupe is headed for the production line at the BMW`s facility in Dingolfing, so the building of an M4 Gran Coupe would pose serious problems to the company while dealing with three models at the same time.

BMW M4 Gran Coupe was rendered just a while ago on the web with the four-door coupe looking just smashing.

The BMW manufacturer might be planning to manufacture a new range of the M model, with the M4 Gran Coupe being on the top list.

There is no official announcement yet on this particular new on their behalf, but it is definitely certain that the M4 will be coming in the end, as we can see in the two rendered pics.

If the does come, the BMW M4 is supposed to be hotter than the BMW M3, still sharing the same platform. Though, modifications will include the wheelbase being wider for more space inside, and with an interior design to be exactly the same as the M3.

More than that, the M4 will share the same 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder, also seen on the M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe. The M4 Cabrio will sport the same unit.

The unit will develop 431 horsepower (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. We will come back with more details soon.
