More than that, the 2013 BMW M3 CSL comes with a topping of 280 km/h. From a visual standpoint, the model is looking spectacular, with no accident recorded so far, the car`s mileage also standing at just 24,950 miles. We are talking about a car sitting most of its time in the owner`s garage or being taken out for a spin once in a while.

BMW has a very large group of enthusiasts world-wide, and within that group, there are several close knit communities that have been mesmerized by one model or another.

One of those proud communities is celebrating 10 years since their favorite model has been launched.

I am talking about the BMW M3 CSL fans, 50 of which have gathered to show their love for their vehicle. For the same occasion BMW released a video where the nature of the M3 CSL is explained. Basically, the BMW M3 CSL is a lightweight version of the normal M3 (110 kg lighter), giving the limited edition car better performance.

This weight reduction was possible thanks to the use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber. BMW only made 1.383 units of the M3 CSL, and it was so good that in just a few months they were all sold. For more details, follow the video below.

BMW M3 CSL is one of the fastest M cars at Nurburgring. As you know, the stock version is rated 343hp with 365Nm and the CSL version has an improved stock engine so it has a power of 360hp and 372Nm reaching it at 4300rpm.

Reil Performance tuning firm together with the German tuners MR Car Design have given the BMW a new shape, a sportier one, thanks to increased performance and design.

The first changes were made to the​​ engine, where power increased from 360hp to 386hp, disc brakes stronger due Porsche GT3, BBS rims and modified suspension.

Among other changes this time are windows that are not of glass, they are plexiglass made, new rear bumper, a new exhaust and drastically lower the weight because of to the car doors (by Black Falcen) and trunk which were made ​​of carbon giving the E46 BMW M3 CSL by REIL Performance to weight somewhere around 1250kg.

At the interior, the E46 M3 CSL comes with a Cardiff roll cage and Recaro sport seats.

His name is Andrey and is known by his friends as „Andrey Fashion”. He lives in Ukraine and owns a 2001 BMW 3 Series E46 330Ci (3-liter V6 engine M54), his dream was to make an unique car from a simple BMW. The final result was as clear as possible and you can see a total different car.

Andrey loves the lime color of the Lamborghini Murcielago and it became his aim to paint the car. All tuning was made at home, interior is also in lime style, what was before black glance now is green lime.

This car became an eye catching car because of its lime color and BMW M3 GTR CSL look.

The main modifications were: exterior lime color, interior lime color trims, GTR hood and CSL look trunk, new front bumper and rear bumper (individual style) with full exhaust system with quad pipes (wider than stock M3 E46), K&N air filter, new stainless steel headers, no cats, 2 strongers and 2 resonators.

Besides these modifications, the car wears 18” rims with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear and an engine chip tuning which increased the engine power from 231hp stock to around 250-270hp.

Andrey was not completely pleased with all modifications and installed an audio system for $3000, Alpine 2-DIN head and DLS speakers with 2 DLS amplifiers.

Here we have a very interesting race against the freshly revealed BMW 1 Series M Coupe and the older but more powerful BMW E45 M3 CSL. Another important thing to know is that behind the steering wheel are not professional drivers but BMW enthusiasts. However, the result is pretty impressive and we can clearly see that the new 1M Coupe is a quite decent racing car even compared with a renowned model such the previous-generation M3 CSL.

The race has been held at the Nurburgring circuit, the gap between the two German models being somewhere around 25 seconds. To be more precise, the BMW M3 CSL lapped the famous German circuit in 7:50 while the smaller 1M Coupe in 8:15.

According to the driver’s statements, the lap time would have been better but the traffic and the accident in the last part of the circuit caused some delays and added few extra seconds in the end. Another noteworthy fact is that the BMW 1 Series M Coupe was fitted with no extra equipment while the M3 CSL has additional features for better performance on the circuit.

The BMW M3 CSL is fitted with 18-inch wheels with Pilot Sport Cup tires, a Titan exhaust system with racing catalytic converters, a roll cage, a high performance coil-over suspension and race seats and harnesses at the interior.

As you know, the smallest M ever created comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine able to deliver 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. When coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, same as the model in the video, it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,9 seconds and achieves a top speed of 250 km/h.

On the other hand, the older BMW M3 CSL packs a 3.2-liter engine producing 360 horsepower at 7,900 rpm and 370 Nm of torque at 4,900 rpm. This means that the M3 CSL has an output-per-liter figure of 111 horsepower, quite similar to the opponent. With this been said, I invite you to watch the battle between the new member of the M family and the reputable and bulkier M3 CSL.

The Nordschleife got a very interesting visit recently in the form of the 2011 BMW M3 GTS.

The limited edition of the E92 M3 will stand to replace the CSL version of the previous generation of M3 as this is still a lightweight, hardcore, track racing focused car that is still road legal.

Road legal is a relative term as all the modifications brought to the car will fail to make it past road-going legislation in many countries, the biggest of which will be the United States of America.

The GTS version of the BMW M3 is due to be on sale by next month and features a 4.4 liter V8 engine that has an output of 450 horsepower. The list of upgrades also includes a 7-speed M DKG Drivelogic gearbox, a multitude of weight saving materials used in the body and as a list of downgrades you know get no stereo, no air conditioning and no back seats. Reminds you of any recent BMW CSL’s list of equipment?

To sum up, other than a 419 pound diet you get a hardcore BMW M3 with a wing on it’s back. Well, not really. What you do get is probably one of the best driving machines made to date and one of the most amazing sounds ever to be heard round the Nurburgring.
