BMW has recently announced that the M2 model will be available on the market in a couple of years, with the version sporting some tweaks from the track model M235i Racing.

The BMW has been playing with an M2 version ever since the 2-Series Coupe was introduced on the market, with the supercar model coming in 2016.

Thus, the upcoming BMW M2 would come with a more aggressive body taken from the M235i Racing, along with some fender flares, a hood bulge, air diffuser or quad exhaust arrangement.

Inside the super car, expect some bucket seats, carbon fiber trims or sport steering wheel.

Under the hood however, the new BMW M2 would be equipped with a 3.0-liter straight six-cylinder unit, developing around 400 horsepower.

The power will be sent to the rear wheels with the help of a six-speed manual transmission or an optional 8-speed automatic, offered along with a limited-slip differential.

The BMW M2 would become available in showrooms somewhere in 2016. More details will be revealed at the close moment of its launch.

A fresh new BMW M235i Racing car has managed to crash at Nurburgring last weekend, when the supercar was racing on the tracks.

The BMW M235i Racing was caught on a video while racing on the circuit last weekend, but still there are no news about what has caused the accident.

The video posted below shows the M235i Racing hitting a Porsche 911, with the driver ending up being hurt, while the other one behind the Porsche was just fine.

The M235i Racing was recently introduced to the public, with the car receiving some special tweaks for racing. We are talking about some improvements coming with a new aerodynamic body kit being certified by FIA safety cell, as well as some sport tuned suspension system.

The BMW M235i Racing car has a mechanical limited slip rear differential. Under the hood, the M235i Racing comes with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, developing a great 333 horsepower (245 kW) and a peak torque of 450 Nm (331 lb-ft).

During the last weekend’s VLN race on the Nurburgring circuit, a BMW M235i Racing crashed. According to the first information, the German model collided with a Porsche 911, the driver of the latter escaping with no injuries.

Sadly, the BMW driver was taken to the hospital due to the arm and shoulder injuries. The BMW M235i Racing is designed for private racing teams with deliveries for this model started just few weeks ago.

Maybe the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine producing 333 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque proved to be too much for the driver.

Even so, thanks to the safety cell as well as other features such as the mechanical limited-slip rear differential and sport suspension, he managed to avoid a bigger impact.

The two cars were filmed shortly after the incident while they were loaded on the truck.

The highly developed BMW M235i Racing car has marked its first appearance in metal on track, as an official video reveals, displaying the forthcoming of the entry-level racing car.

The M235i has its basis on the M235Mi Coupe flagship and comes equipped with a powerful and upgraded two-door 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that produces a 245 kW- up to 5kW.

In terms of car racing interior safety, the car also enhances a full FIA roll cage, safety tank, stability control, and anti-lock brakes.

Since the car was conceived to hit the racing tracks from VLN Endurance Championship and the Nurburgring 24 Hours race, director Jens Marquardt from BMW Motorsport stated that the car will offer an “exceptionally good” basis for the track racing coupe.

Jens Marquardt continues: “While the BMW Z4 GT3 spearheads our range, the new M235i Racing means we are now also excellently positioned for the coming years in the field of production-based racing cars.”

The BMW M235i Racing car will be on sale starting next year at the price of $89,890 or 59,500 euros. As for the rear-wheel-drive 2 Series Coupe which replaces the seven-year-old BMW 1 Series Coupe, the car will have starting prices under $50,000.
