The opening of a new BMW facility in Mexico has been long debated, and now the plans are ready to be put into action, as the German based will built a location there.

More than that, rumors from Reuters have also been leaked, stating that the BMW is actually set to go at full capacity, meaning to reach a staggering 150,000 units every year.

Since the news don’t seem to stop here, an official spokesperson from the Mexican government, declared on Monday that the BMW was just about to make the official announcement about the investment of more than 1 billion Euros in the facility.

Thus, the facility would be built in one of the two locations available, namely in Hidalgo state, in the north of Mexico or in San Luis Potosi, in central Mexico.

The BMW`s aim of building a Mexican facility concerns the production of the Group`s line up of front-wheel drive system cars, as well as the building of the Mini brand. The 1-Series` platform is also in plans in 2017.
