It seems that car maker BMW has really struck gold with their new carbon fiber technologies, with plenty future projects lined up.

One such project involves a full carbon fiber wheel rim, and we should expect it to arrive somewhere in the next 2 years.

In truth, this is not really a world first, but that isn’t the main selling point of the product. With their carbon fiber plant expanding, BMW is ready to apply their cheaper technology to a wider array of parts, wheels included. And their plans don’t stop there.

Recently they have also developed a full carbon fiber steering wheel as well as a one-piece propeller shaft, and along side the full carbon fiber wheels they will also build an alloy / carbon hybrid. These new wheels are not only lighter, but as BMW officials state, they are also tougher, scrapes being easier to polish out. i can’t wait until aftermarket specialists get a hold of this technology.

Ever since the dawn of the industrial age, technology has advanced and developed at staggering rates. It is the same case for the carbon fiber.

It started out as a novelty material too expensive to use on just anything. Gradually, with time and the hard work of scientists, carbon fiber has become cheaper and available in a wider range of products.

Now BMW announces that, in their opinion, after many years of research and development, this valued material is ready to be become affordable on any vehicle. And to prove to us that all that time and money was not spent in vain, we have the BMW i3, which will be the first car to have its whole body made out of carbon fiber.

A BMW board member stated that “compared with initial industrial production of carbon-fiber M3 roofs, we have succeeded in lowering manufacturing costs for carbon-fiber body components by as much as 50 percent”. 50% is a big improvement, but it didn’t happen overnight. It is the crowning achievement of over 10 years of development.

The advantage of the carbon fiber over traditional building materials pretty much boils down to weight. That provides not only better performance, but also satisfies the growing demand for more efficient fuel burning.

Carbon fiber is a prime example of an alternative and exclusive technology becoming mainstream, and with BMW funding so many other projects, like EV development or hydrogen fuel, the cleaner future draws closer.

Great German tuner, Hartge, has recently released the BMW E92 upgraded with a variety of accessories inside and outside. Some of the accessories added by Hartge to this incredible car from all points of view are: aluminum pedals, carbon fiber grill for the BMW M3 E92 coupe and convertible, aluminum handle and handbrake lever HARTGE Pommeau speed, carcasses of the carbon fiber mirrors, a diffuser and a rear lip for boot lid are also available only for the BMW M3 coupe and sedan.

Many other accessories were added to this beautiful BMW M3 E92. Also, this car has a limited speed of 291km/h (180mph), but you can remove the speed limiter and your car can have a maxim speed of 340km/h.
