BMW is expanding its SUV range. It’s well-known that, especially in the US market, the demand for crossovers is rapidly growing. Therefore, the Germans will launch two new models during the next years.

Let’s start with the crown jewel, the BMW X7. It will feature two versions: a seven seater and an ultra-luxurious 4 seater. If the regular version is due to production in 2019, there isn’t announced a certain date for the more luxurious variant. Both crossovers will be built on the CLAR platform, borrowed from the 7 Series. More, the engines from the 7 Series will probably equip the X7.

To be ready for the expansive American market, both variants will be built at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. This fact will increase even more the total production of the factory, which already reached a peak in 2015. Before the unveiling moment, it’s probable that BMW will reveal a concept car which will give us a glimpse about the new crossover. An interesting fact is that the X7 won’t share any elements with the first Rolls Royce SUV, the Cullinan.

More, a second BMW crossover, positioned between the X1 and the X3 will be on the market sometime next year. In a logical manner, it should be named BMW X2 and, looking at the current BMW crossover range, it will be the coupe variant of the X1. It will probably share the 2.0 liter diesel and gasoline engines with its brother, while possibly be available exclusive with xDrive system.

Finally, a few words about a more luxurious car, situated above the 7 Series. Though it isn’t yet known if it will be named 8 or 9 Series, the certain fact is that it will come into production. According to Ian Robertson, the BMW sales head, the model is currently in a highly developed stage and could be seen on streets “in a not too distant future”. Could this mean by 2020?

According to AutoZeitung magazine, BMW might be planning the most ultimate German machinery, in the shape of the rumored 9-Series Coupe, which would be based on the new platform that will sit beneath the new Rolls Royce Phantom.

The German based AutoZeitung has recently released an article according to which BMW might release a 9-Series Coupe model, that would borrow a lot of the design lines found on the Vision Future Luxury Concept and use the carmaker`s new platform and CFRP for the passenger cell, with the suicide doors as the “main attraction”.

Moving inside, the cabin of the future BMW 9-Series Coupe might use the latest high-end materials as well as the most advanced technology also seen on the 2016 BMW 7-Series or Vision Future Luxury Concept.

In the engine department, the BMW 9-Series Coupe might also use a wide array of petrol engines and diesels, like the 3.0-liter turbocharged or the higher 4.4-liter TwinTurbo V8 engine, with a 940e hybrid also to be offered soon after. All these important details would make it a major player against its top predators, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe or the Maybach.

According to some recent rumors, the BMW German based carmaker is seemingly preparing a 9-Series model that would be launched somewhere in 2017 and would become the direct rival of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

The BMW 9-Series is also believed to be based on the Vision Future Luxury Concept, being equipped with laser headlights, as well as OLED taillights. Even so, the model will come with its own personality that will make it stand out from the crowd.

This means that the 9-Series will be based on a longer wheelbase than the 7- or the 8-Series, measuring around 5,500 mm and being manufactured from light materials like aluminum and carbon fiber.

Concerning the powertrain under the hood, there is no fresh news, but we should expect more details in the near future, especially with the upcoming 2015 NAIAS, in Detroit, where more will be known.

Rumors about the BMW`s 9-Series have been rendered for a long time and now it seems that the German based is indeed planning something to be reportedly heading to the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.

More than that, the BMW chiefs have also confirmed the presence of a concept car at the 2014 Beijing event, but it didn’t mention exactly what model would be.

Clues about the concept let us state that this would be indeed the upcoming 9-Series, with the car enhancing some high-technological tweaks.

Thus, the reportedly 9-Series would be bringing along some new futuristic exterior and interior designs, plus a series of high-end materials inside.

Inside, the so called 9-Series would come with connectivity features, involving an “optimally tailored to the needs of all occupants”, as BMW`s officials state.

Another rumor of the upcoming 9-Series is the confirmation that the top of the line car would be using new lightweight production tweaks, involving perhaps carbon fiber components.

The carbon fiber`s presence here is likely, since the BMW manufacturer is already in develops of a lightweight modular platform that will be used on the upcoming 3-Series and up.

We will wait up for the 2014 Beijing Motor Show to see what surprises the BMW automaker has set for us.

For the BMW fan base, a recent rendering was released, portraying a possible new model based on the BMW 7 Series, one the artist called BMW Sportback concept. The artist behind this rendering is 0smet Çevik, a Turk that has dabbled in industrial design and has a soft spot for Bimmers.

There are a few rumors out there that the German car maker is actually planning a brand new 9 Series on top of all the other new models they have already announced. Chances of that actually happening are not great, but should BMW ever consider a 9 Series, this BMW Sportsback Concept might hold some details fans would like to see.

The BMW German manufacturer might be ready to come up with what it seems to be its latest creation BMW 9-Series Concept.

The 9-Series is expected to be bigger, larger and more luxurious, being ready to be officially launched perhaps at the 2014 China Auto.

There is no official announcement made so far, but the professionals from the Auto Motor und Sport, are inclined to confirm the Concept`s presence in China.

The source also state that the BMW 9-Series Concept will feature a “new cockpit philosophy” that will be also put on the next generation of the 7-Series.

More than that, rumors state that the Concept will be riding on the same platforms that can be now found on the Rolls-Royce Phantom or the 2015 BMW 7-Series.
