Without a doubt, BMW is one of the most famous automakers. Few people could truly say that they’ve never heard of the famous Bavarian brand. With such a reputation, there’s no surprise when it comes to fans trying to imagine all sorts of models that BMW could produce, even if these models will probably never come into existence. This particular BMW 8 Series rendering is a great example of this.

Right from the start you can notice the amount of work that went into this particular render project. The vehicle looks as if it were a real BMW model. In fact, it does make one think of how the world would look if BMW would indeed decide to produce a supercar model. With a car like this, BMW would definitely hit the jackpot. At this point, all BMW fans dream about a day in which this vehicle or a similar supercar model would exit the gates of BMW’s factories. The demand would most likely be overwhelming.

Being based on the 8 Series, you can immediately notice that this particular supercar rendering relies heavily on the original model’s design particularities. While the overall design of the rendering looks more aerodynamic, you can immediately tell that the rendering’s core elements are identical to those of the BMW 8 Series. The added decals give the rendered car a sporty feel. The interesting thing is that this rendering manages to combine sporty with elegant into a package that does not seem out of place.

This rendering also gives us an idea of how much competition BMW could provide to famous supercar manufacturers such as Lamborghini and Ferrari. It gives us a preview of what BMW could achieve, provided it was interested in entering the supercar market. However, such a move on BMW’s behalf is highly improbable. Apart from the investments that would need to be made in the construction of a whole new research and design department, BMW would also need to make sure it brings something new to the supercar manufacturing table.

This particular BMW 8 Series rendering is one of the most interesting. It makes one question the sustainability of a BMW supercar, while giving all BMW fans a small preview of how such a project would look if it were indeed real. The overall enthusiasm regarding the potential existence of a BMW supercar is the result of all the hard work put into this particular rendering.

25 years have already passed since BMW first introduced the 8 Series to the world, and both BMW owners and staff of the car maker have gathered at the Welt to celebrate.

Looking at it now and trying to judge the BMW 8 Series by today’s standards would be a shame, as the passing of time does reveal both outdated looks and underperforming tech.

But this isn’t really the reason to celebrate the BMW 8 Series. Most owners and BMW enthusiasts will remember that back in 1989, the vehicles really drew in the crowds at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It has retractable headlights, a pillarless design and an attractive shape for the time.

Under the hood, BMW fitted a 5.0 liter V12 capable of delivering 295 Hp and 450 Nm of torque. The year 1993 brought two engine choices for the BMW 8 Series, a 4.0 liter V8 that brought 282 Hp into the fold and a 5.6 liter V12 good for 375 Hp and 550 Nm of torque.

Production of the BMW 8 series unfortunately ended in 1999, but by that time, the manufacturer managed to produce 30.621 units, many of which sported the big V12 engine.

It was only a few days ago when we have all witnessed BMW revisit of the popular 8 series. While it all came down to a video of three minutes, the decision had a major impact on those trying to have a glimpse of the real purpose of the officials.

Many of you may already asked the question – why would BMW look into a series dating back since 1989? Could it have anything to do with the recently promoted concepts sharing the same V12 engine configuration?

Just to make a short recap, back in 1989, we have all witnessed the launching of a new BMW class through the 8 series, a breakthrough with its V8 and V12 engines. Needless to insist on this aspect, the BMW 8 series made the most expensive models of the German car maker at the time.

Aside from the premiere of 12 cylinders, 8 series also brought the steering linked rear suspension and a drag coefficient as little as 0.3! Again, a major breakthrough of the time.

Twenty four years since that moment, we got the chance to look into Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe concept, a BMW model that gets closer to the initial 8 series in many, different and surprising ways!

Whether there is something more behind this retrospective of BMW 8 series or not, we shall find out soon enough! Meanwhile, we get to enjoy 24 years of fascinating history!

As we’ve mentioned before, BMW has always tried hard to take care of it’s customers so that they would not have any worries regarding the mechanical aspect of the cars they have bought. But what will happen with the cars after they will not be eligible to the BMW Ultimate Service? Let’s take a look at Korea for example to a possible solution.

If you happen both to live in Korea and to own a BMW 6 Series, 7 Series or 8 Series (with the note that the car must have been registered before the first of September of the year 2005)then be glad because BMW Korea is throwing together a campaign for free checkups.

So presuming one would be eligible for the checkups then he or she would not only benefit from the free services, but would also receive a 20 percent rebate on whatever components might be needed for the repairs (though if you happen to crash it and come for repairs, that won’t happen). Apart from the above, additional coupons will be given for a large catalogue of components such as brake pads or discs.

The campaign will end on September 3.

BMW really wants to raise the manufacturing started by employing more workers in BMW Plants and started making new BMW models: first was 2011 BMW 0 Series (you can see a sketch here) and now they are making an 8 Series. At the 8 Series they really developed the ideea and there are a lot of real photos, not just sketches.

It’s not official, but some rumors say that 2010 BMW 8 Series will be released in 2010 and from what I think, it will be at the end of the year because they just released the news that this car will be built. Under the hood is said that will be a 6.0 liter V12 engine or a V8 just like on the next M5.

BMW reported that there will be no M version of 2010 BMW 8 Series wich from my thoughts, this car is awesome just the way it is; 2010 BMW 8 Series doesn’t need any power upgrade. I’m disappointed to see that there is no talk about a hybrid version of 2010 BMW 8 Series. Anyway, there is no doubt that 2010 BMW 8 Series will make part of the next BMW generation.
