Even with the ongoing 2017 NAIAS, taking place in Detroit, the German based BMW carmaker is still keeping its plans of introducing lots of new models starting this year.

Two of them concern the reborn of the 6-Series – the Coupe and the Convertible – recently seen on the road while performing some heavy snowy testing.

Rumors with the new 6-Series coming with lots of influences from the future 8-Series have been the internet`s top news, but with the new test mules being presented in the flesh, chances are that both versions will be keeping their own identity.

Even so, the 6-Series models will come with lots of design transformations and the heavy camouflage just confirms it. Once arriving on the market, the 6-Series Coupe and Convertible will come with a more raked roofline towards the back, which will make them extremely appealing and attractive.

What it is more interesting on the Convertible than on the Coupe, is that the former one seems to hide a metal roof under the soft top, as the rear window comes with a different shape compared to the present model, with the black canvas also present over the roofline without being part of the whole system. Even so, the space will be visible diminuished.

Once decided for mass-production, both the BMW 6-Series Coupe and Convertible will be sitting on the carmaker`s new flexible CLAR platform, also underpinning the new 5-Series Gran Turismo, meaning that it will allow a wide array of engines under the hood. However, the power information are kept hidden at the moment, but we should be able to find out more in the upcoming period.

BMW is planning the introduction of the all-new 2018 6-Series next spring, the model also coming available with the M Sport package, which will add more exterior features and cabin tweaks. In the engine department, the higher-end version will keep the existing lineup.

The 2018 BMW 6-Series with M Sport package will be available on both the Coupe and Rendering versions, each one being highlighted with exquisite exterior features.

One of the most important refer to the Carbon Fiber trim as well as the 20-inch bi-colour M Lightweigth alloy wheels, with wide tires for improved stance and greater grip. The overall design will be complemented with the new Sonic Speed Blue exterior colour.

Inside, besides the M Sport package, you can also opt for tweaks within the carmaker`s Individual cataloue, meaning new high-quality leather, headliners, adding as well new tweaks at the exterior – new exterior finishes, and much more.

Once arriving on the market, the standard all-new 2018 BMW 6-Series Coupe and Convertible, will stand on the carmaker`s new CLAR platform, meaning that it will make it around 200 kg more lightweight, adding as well other important mechanics, including optional air suspension, rear-wheel steering and a new banger, in the shape of a turbo inline-six engine with 550 horsepower.

The model will comprise two versions, the 640i and the 650i, followed shortly by an all-wheel drive version as well. More details, including the price tags will be known later on next year!

The BMW 6-Series GT was caught on spy shots about a week ago, the model coming as a rebadged 5-Series GT version, only looking much bigger and more equipped in terms of performance.

The trend today in the auto industry is building bigger models and this new philosophy seems to fancy BMW carmaker as well. And one good example is the 6-Series GT.

The model is set to come with a sweeping roofline and other evolutionary design lines that would make it hotter than the present 5-Series GT. But the car`s main highlights are under the hood.

As expected, BMW will equip the all-new model with its impressive choice of petrol and diesel engine lineup, starting with the BMW 630i, 640i and finishing with the top of the line M650i xDrive variant. The xDrive will come with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, the same one found on the G30 M550i xDrive.

On the diesels side, the 6-Series GT will comprise the BMW 620d, 630d as well as the same M650d xDrive, this particular version coming with a freshly-added B57 quad-turbo engine. The company will also introduce three plug-in hybrids, namely the BMW 630e, 640e and the 650e iPerfomance.

In case you were wondering about an M Sport package, then yes, the carmaker is also planning the introduction of such a model, with rather the same high-end M parts fitted on the new 5-Series 540i M Performance, meaning high-end features at the exterior as well as the latest materials inside the cabin.

Japan is one of the most exclusive auto market to receive exquisite BMW models, and in the last six months we have seen some interesting models being launched in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The latest limited-run edition to recently arrive in Japan is another special 6-Series based on the 640i, initially branded as the BMW 640i Gran Coupe Celebration Edition Exclusive Sport.

Now the model received its official name – the BMW 6-Series Grand Coupe Edition, being offered in a limited-run of just 33 units, each one coming with a price tag of 13.4 million yen, which is the equivalent of $125,715.

As we can depict from the photos below, the limited-edition comes with the gorgeous and rare Sapphire Black Metallic exterior wrap, complemented by one-off body styling bits, all part of the M Sport package – new front and rear aprons, custom side sills, as well as the 20-inch M alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin is fully tweaked with a lot of exquisite high-end features, such as Nappa leather with black and cognac trims, contrast stitching, BMW Individual Alcantara roof lining, piano black accent, and high-performance 16-speaker and sub-woofer Harman Kardon surround system.

The carmaker is also offering as standard other important features, such as rear-seat heating, four-zone automatic climate control, soft-close doors, comforts front seats and so forth.

BMW`s 6-Series in its present generation, with the hallmarks 6 Series Coupe and Grand Coupe, lacks a potent version that would revive the lineup`s once glorious times.

But according to new report, the German based carmaker is planning to introduce two future models, the 6 Series GT and a hardcore M6 GT, both presuming debuting somewhere in 2018.

Based on the previews discussion and leaks, X-Tomi Design has recently released two renderings of how the future BMW 6 Series GT and top of the line M6 GT would look like in the future, both being envisioned on the recently unveiled 5 Series Sedan.

Despite the similarity in looks with the 2017 BMW 5 Series, the future 6 Series and M6 would come with a wider body and longer wheelbase, adding a more luxurious yet aggressive look.

The 6 GT would take its overall design from the first generation but with styling bits from the present BMW products, with flowing headlights into the kidney grille, or new slopping roofline, and increased sporty lines on the sides.

The cars` interior will also add sporty lines, along with high-end materials and the latest technology found on all flagships from BMW, including autonomous driving, free-standing LCDs and much more.

Once arriving on the market in 2018, the 6 Series GT range will comprise a wide array of petrol burners from 630i to 640i, or diesels, from 620d to 640d. The 640i xDrive will also join the club and will be first introduced on the United States market.

More and more tuners worldwide begin to test their skills on different BMW products, and that`s because the German models come with an extremely reliable design and powertrains under the hood that allow simple to complex power customizations.

The latest one to be seen carrying out an almost complete tuning package on the gorgeous BMW 6-Series was Wald International with their Black Byson aero kit, closely followed by the folks from Fostla tuner, based in Germany as well.

Seen here wearing the gorgeous Noble Gray Metallic, a rare body wrap from BMW Individual catalogue, this BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe is looking almighty with the Prior Design PD6xx wide body kit and a nice power upgrade.

The aero kit`s most highlighted parts refer to custom revised front and rear bumpers, front spoiler, rear diffuser with boot lid wing, side skirts and side sills, fender extensions and so on.

As we can depict from the gorgeous pictures below, our custom 6-Series Gran Coupe is also wearing the Prior Design alloy wheels, finished in Blue Metallic and wrapping extremely wide tires. They come in sizes of 245/30-20 and 295/30-20 front and rear and make the car look extremely aggressive.

Let`s not forget to add the mechanical bits, which improves its aesthetics and provides greater stance and maneuverability. It is all about the new Eibach lowering kit which lowers the car by 25 mm and 20 mm front and rear.

In the engine department, thanks to the fitting on the new power kit and sport exhaust system, the car`s 4.4-liter V8 engine is now developing 570 horsepower, instead of the stock 450 horsepower. No performance figures are known at the moment, but stay tuned for info on the model!

The rumor mill flying around for some time hinted at the possibility that the all-new BMW 6-Series, scheduled for an official debut in 2018, might arrive on the market without the convertible version.

The current F12 Convertible and F13 Coupe have been on the market for around seven years, with the company initially planning a makeover of both versions.

But according to a new report from Automobile, the 6-Series won`t make the final finish. More than that, the new 6-Series Gran Coupe might also be left in the dust, as the carmaker is planning the introduction of the new 9-Series.

As expected, the 2018 6-Series will stand on BMW`s new CLAR platform, highlighting a new and sleeker design, more dynamic roofline, shallower glasshouse, adding C-pillar behind the rear wheels, all that offering the new model an Aston Martin-like design look.

The CLAR platform will also allow the all-new BMW 6-Series be more lightweight with around 200 kilograms, the model also receiving optional air suspension, rear-wheel steering and a fresh-new quad-turbo inline-six engine, with around 550 horsepower.

As expected, an xDrive all-wheel version will also join the coupe, with the rear-axle taken from the 2016 BMW 7-Series. We should be able to find out more information on the upcoming BMW 6-Series in the upcoming period.

Christmas came earlier for German tuner Noelle Motors which is offering for sale their latest project, carried out on this superb BMW 650i Gran Coupe xDrive.

The model in question has received some body goodies along with an impressive power boost under the hood.

First off, this 650i Gran Coupe xDrive features an exotic copper matte metallic exterior color, complemented by the 20-inch Y-spoke allow, wrapped in 245/35 ZR20 and 275/30 R20 Pirelli P Zero rubbers.

Inside, the cabin is also looking fresh, with the new instrument dials also found on the top of the line M6. But the most important change was brought under the hood.

The aftermarket specialists from Noelle Motors tuner have managed to exploit the high-performance 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine to the full, turning it into a real beast.

We are looking here at 176 horsepower and 123 Nm of torque more over the stock power, the 650i Gran Coupe xDrive now developing a total of 622 horsepower and 773 Nm of torque. BMW is planning some special models for the Japanese market, like the BMW 5-Series Grace Line Special Edition, which will be built in just 160 units. Today, some rumors have stated that BMW is also planning the introduction of the 640i Coupe M Performance Edition, with only 10 units to be available in Japan.

The BMW 640i Coupe M Performance Edition will be based on the BMW`s M Performance package, meaning that this particular model will be feature some special goodies, like the M front and rear bumpers, the side skirts and the pipes fitted with the dark chrome paint.

Apart the M Performance package, the BMW 640i Coupe M Performance Edition will also be available with the M Performance carbon fiber kit, with the carbon fiber mirror caps, the M Performance black kidney grilles, or the one-off 20-inch Liquid Black wheels.

And the features keep coming, the BMW 640i Coupe M Performance Edition also receiving Plus Package, with full LED headlamps, the soft-close doors, the glass sunroof and a few more to go with that.

Inside, the cabin will fit the three-spoke steering with paddle shifters, the sports seats, door sill plates, Dakota leather, the M Performance pedals and a few more. Under the hood, the The BMW 640i Coupe M Performance Edition will be fitted with the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six, developing around 320 horsepower, hooked to the 8-speed automatic. BMW has just launched the 2015 BMW 6-Series in the United Kingdom and is now planning to send the model lineup in Australia, the pricing details also being announced. The entire lineup will receive the same engines and features.

First to make its way onto the hot continent would be the base entry-level 640i Coupe, priced at 177,900 AUD, while the 640i Convertible will cost 184,900 AUD. Both the coupe and the convertible will come with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit, developing 235 kW and 450 Nm of torque. The same turbo diesel will output 230 kW and 630 Nm of torque.

Next in kin, the 640i Gran Coupe can be yours at 184,900 AUD, being followed by the diesel 640d Gran Coupe, with the same 184,900 AUD. The 6-Series 650i Coupe can be had from a higher 231,900 AUD, the 650i Convertible from 247,900 and the 650i Gran Coupe, priced at 247,900 AUD. All three versions will be packed with the 4.4-liter V8 engine, developing 331 kW and 650 Nm of torque.

Other features that the 2015 BMW 6-Series will be coming to in Australia, include the Driving Assistant Plus with active cruise control, Park Assistant, Lane Change Warning, Adaptive LED headlights, or the surround view camera.
