The famous German tuning company AC Schnitzer is celebrating 30 years of successful existence on the tuning market with its new aero package, first installed on the new BMW M240i. The model will be presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in the upcoming weeks.

The ACL2S conversion kit costs $38,000, and only 30 units with the special kit will be produced, each one being priced at a total of $83,000, including the registration fees. The destination charge will be set at a later date.

What makes this kit extremely expensive and special is the ten-piece carbon fiber components. We are looking here at carbon fiber front spoiler and side mirrors, front splitter, bespoke side skirts, rear roof spoiler, carbon fiber rear diffuser and fiber wing. The entire kit is complemented with the new AC Schnitzer AC1 alloy wheels available in black or silver.

As for the car`s interior, the technicians from AC Schnitzer have also added some new features, like aluminum pedal set, the one-off “One of Thirty” badging, three-spoke leather steering wheel with colour-matched stitching.

As for the car`s engine under the hood, the BMW M240i ACL2S by AC Schnitzer also comes with new power and torque. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine is now churning out 440 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, which is quite impressive from the stock 340 horsepower.

The power kit includes an ECU remapping, new downpipe, custom air intake and new exhaust system. The tuner have also added their famous fully-adjustable RS suspension kit, which lowers the car`s ride height for increased stance.

We have seen hundreds of races so far involving equally-matching models with the sole purpose of finding out which one is the best, and the latest video to pop up on the web puts head-to-head other three outstanding models.

We are looking here at a race which involves a BMW 240i, Porsche 718 Cayman as well as an Audi TTS, all of them coming with rather the same power yet being slightly different when it comes to torque features.

Visually, all three models come with advanced aerodynamics, highlighted by their light chassis and high-performance composites around their bodies. However, one`s heavier body style might be another`s advantage on a straight line run.

The BMW 240i comes with enough power to impress its audience. We are looking here at a good 335 horsepower and impressive 500 Nm of torque, allowing an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

The 240i`s straight line run is closer to that of the Audi`s TTS, which packs 305 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The car`s main advantage over the 240i is that is more lightweight with around 85 kg.

On the other hand, the Porsche 718 Cayman develops the least, around 295 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, with the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h to be done in 4.9 seconds.

When BMW decided to go front-wheel drive with the new 2-Series Active Tourer and Grand Tourer, that was a risky decision but it seems that the German carmaker knows how to gamble.

And we could tell that it hit the jackpot, as both models are selling extremely well in Europe, managing a third place, after Citroen and Volkswagen Touran.

JatoDnamics via AutoNews has issued a recent report according to which BMW managed to sell 77,644 of the 2-Series Active Tourer and Grand Tourer models in the European Union and Europe Free Trade Association, or simply put EFTA, being outrun only by Citroen with the C4 Picasso and Grand Picasso, with 85,390 units, as well as by Volkswagen Touran, with 88,169 vehicles.

In case you want to know which carmaker takes fourth place in Europe and EFTA, this is occupied by Ford, with the C-MAX and Grand-Max, with 64,016 units sold, shortly followed by Mercedes-Benz B-Class, with 56,325. The account refer to the period between January and September.

As a reminder, the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer & Grand Tourer were officially launched at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, both versions being the first ones to come with a front-wheel drive, a premiere which seemed to upset BMW customers that loved the rear-wheel drive setup.

Both versions stand on the company`s new UKL front-wheel drive platform, the same one found on the all-new X1 or MINI models, meaning that they come with improved and more lightweight materials and increase space inside for passengers and their luggage.

BMW recently announced the availability of the all-new M240i top of the line version from the 2-Series, in the United States, starting next month, with BMWUSA.com already launching the online configurator.

The 2016 BMW M240i is available in the Coupe and the M240i xDrive Convertible. Both versions are coming with the M Performance Package, comprising a lot of high-end features, like the 18-inch Orbit Gray alloy wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubbers.

Other exquisite exterior and interior goodies can be chosen from the online configurator. As for the engine lineup under the hood, the BMW 240i Coupe and Convertible are packing an upgraded B58 engine, with an impressive 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a good 4.3 seconds, at a topping of 250 km/h.

In the United States, the 2016 BMW M240i Coupe is priced from $44,150, while the Convertible version can be had from a higher $51,745.

The BMW M240i is the official replacement of the old-timer M235i, the model coming with sheer performance under the hood, which would bring it closer to the already genuine 2016 BMW M2 Coupe. It seems that the upcoming 2018 G30 5-Series is not the only fresh prototype to play at the Ring before its official unveiling next year, the German carmaker also sending the future BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe for some heavy testing as well.

A spy video with what seems to be the all-new 2-Series Gran Coupe has popped-up on the web, with the model undergoing tests at the Ring, before being released on the market at the end of next year as a 2018 YM.

As we can depict from the spy video, the 2018 2-Series Gran Coupe is all-wrapped in camouflage, meaning serious modifications in terms of design.

Also, the model will be longer, wider, coming as well with short overhangs at the front and rear-end, lower elongated roofline and so on. Overall, the design takes its inspiration from the 2-Series Coupe, both models standing on the same platform.

As far as the engine lineup goes, chances are that we might see a wide range of three- and four-cylinder petrol burners and diesels, all coming with a rear-wheel drive configuration. As expected, the carmaker will also release a PHEV variant.

The detailing list is rather scarce at the moment, but we should expect fresh news in the upcoming period, meanwhile, press the push button and take a look at the future generation of the 2-Series Gran Cooupe!

There were a lot of BMW 2-Series models receiving the proper treatment from different aftermarket shops, as they are often seen as the perfect little cars to get along just fine with a perfect body styling makeover.

The latest one to receive such attention from Turner Motorsport involves this gorgeous 228i Coupe, all wrapped in Estoril Blue exterior, which perfectly blends in with the new set of wheels and some extra mechanical bits.

In the engine department, the BWM 228i Coupe still brags with a 2.0-liter turbocharged N20 flat-four engine, with a good output of 240 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. So, why choosing a power boost when this should be enough for a summer sprint downtown?

Visually, this Estoril Blue 228i Coupe looks even hotter with the HRE1s latest Flowform FF15 with 15 long straight spokes wheels. Even if they are sized 18- and 20 inches, respectively, the wheels look way to much bigger.

The wheels are in the perfect position and there was no need for additional spacers to maintain the perfect stance and grip on the road. Also, their performance is given by the Clubsport shocks which come with two aluminum adjustment knobs. This creates the perfect balance between the front and the rear and fine tunes the car for bumpy tracks.

About a week ago, BMW launched the Compact Sedan Concept at the 2015 Guangzhou Motor Show, the model presuming to lead the way for the upcoming 1- and 2-Series models, both being already previewed in renderings as well.

Now, it was the Gran Coupe`s turn to be showcased in a rendering signed by auto motor und sport magazine, which might give us a clue on how the future model will look like.

As we can depict from the sketch, the upcoming 2-Series Gran Coupe, which is reported to be launched somewhere in 2019 as the direct competitor of the Mercedes-Benz CLA, is taking its inspiration from the 2-Series Coupe and Convertible as well, the model sporting however a longer platform.

The rendering is also showcasing the top of the line Gran Coupe wearing a lower and more rounded elongated roofline, along with sporty overhangs at the front and rear. Apart these features, the 2-Series will also add some common features with other BMW models.

We are not sure what kind of powertrains the Gran Coupe will use under the hood, but rumors have it that it will generally carry over the lineup found on the present 2-Series, along with a rear-wheel layout. More details will be revealed at a later date.

Some while ago, a recent report stated that the 2-Series Gran Coupe would be launched to the market in 2019, the model sporting a rear-wheel drive layout.

However, a new report launched by Auto Bild mentioned that the new-gen BMW 1-Series and 2-Series would come with a front-wheel drive layout.

This means that both 1- and the 2-Series would stand on the company`s new UKL platform, also found on the new MINI models as well as on the 2-Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer MPV.

Perhaps this might not be a good news for some BMW petrol heads, but as a compensation, the carmaker is also rumored to introduce, as expected, an optional xDrive. The powertrains are far to be revealed.

The same report also concluded that we wouldn`t be seeing the new-gen 1-Series and 2-Series too soon, as both models have already received a facelift model.

As stated in a previous article, the 2-Series Gran Coupe version would be revealed somewhere in 2019, so we should expect the rest of the lineup to join the club by the end of the decade.

BMW released the Compact Sedan Concept at the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show, the concept leading the way to the future 1-Series and 2-Series models.

A recent report released by some unknown sources has indicated that the German based carmaker is planning the introduction of a long-wheelbase 2-Series Gran Coupe, which would emerge on the market somewhere in 2019. The model is also rumored to come with a rear-wheel drive layout.

The problem is that BMW has already announced its intention of introducing the all-new 2-Series Gran Coupe somewhere in 2021, the model thus joining the rest of the lineup and sitting next to the 2-Series Coupe and Convertible.

In case it would come up in 2019, the new BMW 1-Series Gran Coupe might feature rather the same characteristics found on the newly unveiled BMW Compact Sedan Concept.

This means that we might see an evolutionary body style, with aggressive front fascia with twin kidney grille, new LED headlights, flared wheel arches, aluminum window surrounds, soft-touch handles and so on.

Apart the new BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe, the German based carmaker is also working on a future X2 crossover as well as a top of the line SUV which will sit above the X5 and X6. We might be looking here at a future X7 flagship.

BMW Abu Dhabi is well-known for its impressive displays of exclusive BMW models, and their latest creation is this 2-Series Active Tourer wearing the M Sport Package.

The M Sport package makes it indeed a special model from its class and might be considered one of the most elegant ones.

We can thus depict the M Sport signature on the front bumper with wide air intakes, spoiler lip and side skirts, while the rear received the new roof spoiler and bumper. The dual tailpipes and sport apron completes the rear end. The overall styling is complemented by the M Sport alloy wheels.
