BMW has recently launched the BMW Compact Sedan Concept at the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show, the concept reportedly leading the way for future 1-Series Sedan model.

We are not sure how the future BMW 1-Series Sedan would look like, but based on the Compact Sedan Concept, rendering artist X-Tomi Design has come up with his own interpretation in the rendering seen above.

The new-gen BMW 1-Series Sedan will be released next year and will be aimed exclusively for the Chinese market, and might wear a similar design as this one portrayed here.

We might see the future model with a sporty front fascia with a twin kidney grille, LED headlights, flared wheel arches, aluminum window surrounds, and other features also seen on the recently unveiled BMW Compact Sedan Concept.

More than that, the future BMW 1-Series Sedan is likely to sit on the company`s newest UKL platform, also found on the new 2-Series Active Tourer or X1, meaning that besides the conventional three- and four-cylinder engines with a front-wheel drive, we should also find an optional xDrive all-wheel drive layout.

Once it will emerge on the Chinese market, it will take on the new Mercedes-Benz CLA or Audi A3 Sedan. Prices and full specs will be revealed at a later date!

The BMW German based carmaker is rumored to plan a 1-Series Sedan, but unfortunately, we haven’t got any idea on the kind of design language it might be using. Rumors have it that it would share similarities with other models from the “Series” lineup.

Theophilus Chin has come up with two renderings with his own interpretation of how the future BMW 1-Series Sedan would look like. The renderings are bold, showcasing the model with a wild yet decent body design, but not too aggressive as most of the models from the “Series” lineup.

And the BMW 1-Series Sedan must be a little bit more aggressive in terms of design, combined with saloon-like cues, which would give it a certain aristocratic yet sporty feel and look. And that especially since it has to overtake its competitors, such as the Audi A3 Sedan and Mercedes-Benz CLA models.

In the engine department, the BMW 1-Series Sedan might also come up with an interesting array of engines, probably equipped with the same three- and four-cylinder configurations, which is a common thing for the entire “Series” lineup. The new 1-Series would have the same front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. But until further news, exploit to the max the two renderings with the expected BMW 1-Series Sedan!

Over the years, Theophilus Chin has provided the internet with quite a lot of renderings of cars, some more feasible than others.

And over the years, one thing has remained constant in his design: he really knows what he’s doing.

This latest of renderings in no different, in execution at least. Presenting us the option of a sedan BMW 1 Series, Theophilus does a good job of making it realistic. But is this just an exercise of imagination or could it really preview a new model?

Chances are that we won’t be seeing this sedan on the road too soon. As you might know, BMW has already expanded their vehicle lineup in order to cover more niches, and from this expansion, models like the 2 Series and 4 series emerged, not to mention the i sub-brand and the BMW-first front wheel drive Active Tourer. So is there any room left for a 1 Series sedan?
