BMW Australia is getting ready to celebrate the arrival of the all-new BMW M2 Competition locally, and to make a big impression, the company decided to launch a special variant enhanced with the M Performance Parts Launch Package.

In Australia, the M2 Competition costs $99,900 in the Pure standard variant, while the top of the line is set at $104,900. However, if you want to add this particular package, then you have to empty your pockets for another $15,990. And by the way, the package is available at every BMW dealer and involves a seven-hour job to install it. That is cheaper than choosing different parts from the package.

As you probably know, the M2 Competition is the hardcore version of the M2, just like the M4 Competition is for the M4 Coupe. It is already enhanced with M goodies and adding the M Performance Parts Launch Package will make it more standout and aggressive. Perhaps for some, way too aggressive and thus too ridiculous.

The M Performance Parts Launch pack comes with a wide range of accessories, comprising both the exterior as well as the interior. There is the carbon fiber front splitter, along with side mirrors and rear spoiler, along with the new bonnet which is also made from carbon fiber. The car`s aggressive rear end is also highlighted by the bespoke and chunkier carbon fiber diffuser.

The interior has not been left out and got the same special treatment. There is the ‘Pro’ steering wheel with carbon fiber trim spokes, adding as well M Performance badges, or carbon fiber treatment for the dashboard and centre console.

Under the hood, the M2 Competition M Performance Parts Launch remains pretty much stock. We are dealing here with the same engine found on the M3 or M4 – the famous S55 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder pot, now producing 302kW and 550 Nm of torque. With a rear-wheel drive setup and standard manual transmission, the M2 Competition allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. However, with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, the acceleration is reduced by 0.2 seconds.

BMW is strengthening its leading position in Australia in the SUV segment by launching some interesting updates for the 2019 X1 and X2 range, with full prices also to be announced. Some variants also come with cut down prices, while others are introduced with the same pricing tags as the previous generation.

Aussie magazine PerformanceDrive has recently released the full prices for the YM2019 of both models and you can find them below, with deliveries expected to begin starting next January.

About the arrival of the brand-new SUVs in Australia, Vikram Pawah, BMW Group Australia, also stated that:

Starting with the 2019 BMW X1, the entire range comprises four variants, starting with the sDrive, and continuing with sDrive18d and sDrive20i. There is also the top of the line xDrive25i. Standard features for all include an 8.8-inch touch-screen display for infotainment system and available with iDrive Touch control on the centre console. It also adds Apple CarPlay as standard along with the Navigation Professional Plus infotainment package.

Under the hood, the 2019 BMW X1 range comes with four power configurations – 103 kW and 220 Nm of torque, 110kW and 330 Nm of torque, 141kw and 280 Nm of torque, and 170 kW and 350 Nm of torque, for the top of the line variant.

Moving to the 2019 BMW X2, the model is offered with three variants – the sDrive18i, sDrive20i and topper xDrive20d. Visual enhancements that separate it from the X1 refer to 19-inch alloy wheels which replace the previous 18-inch wheels, coming with an Y-spoke design and Orbit Grey finish.

Under the hood, the new X2 features the same engine as the X1, only with different power output in the top of the line xDrive20d, which is 140 kW and 400 Nm of torque.

Australia is the latest market to receive the gorgeous new 2019 BMW M2 and M5, both models arriving locally with the Competition Package.

Each one comes with its own choices in terms of design and interior highlights. What is also interesting, according to Aussie magazine PerformanceDrive, the BMW M5 Competition is the most powerful M5 ever built.

Compared to the standard models, the Competition package brings forward more M goodies on the outside and inside, while under hood, the engine has received a power boost as well.

Already for sale in Australia, the 2019 BMW M2 Competition is available with an entry-level variant called the Pure ($99,900) and adds up the top of the line Competition ($104,900). As for the new M5 Competition, this one comes just in one version, and is priced at $229,900.

But what does each model bring fresh compared to the standard ones?

We`ll start with the 2019 BMW M2 Competition, which is offered with the Pure entry-level and top variant not-Pure one. It rather wears the same styling bits as the standard model, yet it features updated front and rear bumpers and new wheels.

On the other side, the non-Pure variant is even more tweaked with one-off 19-inch alloy wheels wrapping 245/35 and 265/35 Michelin Super Sport tires, along with black front grilles and window trimmings, updated suspension system, or 12-speaker Harman/Kardon high-performance sound system inside the cabin.

In the engine department, both variants of the M2 Competition come with same S55 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine borrowed from the M4, now developing 302 kW and 550 Nm of torque. This allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h 4.4 seconds if hooked to the standard six-speed manual, and 4.2 seconds with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Moving to the 2019 BMW M5 Competition, this is highlighted by the same black exterior accents, along with new suspension system which lowers the car`s ride height by 7 mm. There is also the new set of springs that are 10 percent stiffer, adding adaptive dampers which provide better stance and grip. The model also got the 20-inch forged alloy wheels, wrapped in 275/35 and 285/35, front and rear, respectively.

The BMW M5 Competition also comes as the most powerful M model ever built. The car features a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with 460 kW and massive 750 Nm of torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic with switchable all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is also covered in a mind-blowing 3.3 seconds.

The all-new 2018 BMW X2 is the company`s new kid on the block, coming with an extraordinary design language, plenty of high-tech gizmos inside and powerful powertrains under the hood. It has already been announced on the Australian market, arriving this March from $55,900, without the available styling packages.

As we already know, the new X2 is a small crossover, slotting between the X1 and X3, and is first offered in the sDrive20i variant.

It also stands on the company`s new CLAR platform, meaning more lightweight components for increased comfort and space inside, lower fuel consumption and more performance under the hood.

Visually, the crossover`s main highlights refer to LED headlights with corner function, power tailgate, M Sport sports suspension as standard, as well as 19-inch M alloy wheels, blue accents and other M aero parts. All are part of BMW`s first “M Sport X” package.

Inside, the cabin features M Sport leather steering wheel for the driver and plenty of new technologies. Speaking of which, Marc Werner, CEO at BMW Group Australia, has also declared:

“We are excited to be adding the BMW X2 to the small premium SUV segment. The X2’s dynamic stance and highly efficient turbocharged petrol engine combine with outstanding connectivity and infotainment systems to create a sporty vehicle of outstanding versatility.”

BMW Australia has also announced three packages which add more features and gadgetries inside. We are dealing here with the Innovation Package ($2,600) with active cruise control or head-up display, as well as the Comfort Package ($2,700), with electric front seats and seat heating. There is also the Style Plus Package ($3,300) with panoramic glass roof or 20-inch alloy wheels.

As for performance, the 2018 X2 sDrive20i features a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol flat-four engine, with 141 kW and 280 Nm of torque, paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with front wheel-drive configuration. It also sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a good 7.7 seconds.

There is no doubt that BMW has secured its leading position in the premium segment with the newly-arrived high-performance 2018 M5 sedan.

Its success has determined the German carmaker to further introduce some special editions of the new M5, and one of them is the 2018 M5 First Edition, recently making its way onto the Australian market.

However, BMW has limited the 2018 M5 First Edition to just 400 examples worldwide, and only five of them will be heading to Australia.

The all-new 2018 BMW M5 First Edition announces the arrival of the carmaker`s most potent M model in the Land Down Under, featuring a special body paintjob and several visual enhancements. All for a price tag of $229,900.

Marc Werner, CEO of BMW Australia, has also provided some general information about the model, stating that:

“BMW Australia is over the moon with the specification and pricing levels we’ve achieved for the all-new M5. Now to bring out this very special M5 First Edition to five very lucky customers, with even further enhanced specification and exclusive specifications makes for an even greater continuation of the M5’s story.”

From a visual standpoint, the 2018 BMW M5 First Edition features the gorgeous Frozen Dark Red Metallic paint taken from BMW Individual catalogue, which perfectly complements the Smoke White and red interior stitching.

Among the car`s top features we should mention the roller blinds for the rear and side windows, carbon Aber engine cover, ”M5 First Edition” logos on the center console, active-seat ventilation, full-rear seat entertainment and TV functions, gesture control, soft-close doors and 16-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system.

As for the powertrain under the hood, the M5 First Edition features the stock 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with a mind-blowing 441 kW and 750 Nm of torque, enabling a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. The raw power is sent to the wheels via a high-performance eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive and selectable rear-wheel drive.

BMW Australia recently announced the arrival of the brand-new 2018 i3 LCI on the local market starting with January next year. Prices start from $68,700 and go up to almost $76,000.

Besides the standard variant i3, there are also other versions to consider, like the i3s ($69,900), i3 Range Extender ($74,700), as well as the top of the line i3s Range Extender ($75,900).

Compared with the last year`s i3, the new model stands out from the crowd with the “black belt” feature at the exterior extended over the A-pillars and roof. This provides a more exciting look. There are also the new LED technology with LED indicators and wider front and rears which create the impression of a much bigger i3.

The i3s versions are also enhanced with some new mechanical stuffs, like sports suspension with lower ride height, about 10 mm, adding as well new springs, sway bars and dampers. The rear`s track width has also been increased by 40 mm to provide better stability.

In the cabin, both the i3 and the i3s versions come with standard features and technology. However, the i3s adds the newest iDrive infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay compatibility, Professional grade navigation or On-Street Parking Informational Search technology with real-time traffic.

In the engine department, the standard 2018 BMW i3 is powered by an electric motor and 34 Ah battery, with an overall of 125 kW and 250 Nm of torque. This translates in a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

On the other hand, the 2018 i3s version comes with the same powertrain, but with higher output – 135 kW and 270 Nm of torque. That also makes faster as well – 6.9 seconds from a standstill to 100 km/h. The i3 Range Extender outputs the same power, yet adds a 340 km range.

BMW Australia announced yesterday the introduction of the gorgeous 2018 BMW 6-Series GT (Gran Turismo), an exceptionally fun-to-drive car with impressive high-performance capabilities.

Australian customers will be able to choose between two variants: the 630i GT, available at $123,500, as well as the top of the line 640i xDrive GT, which comes with a higher $148,900 price tag.

As we can depict from the media gallery below, the all-new 2018 BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo comes with a bigger body style; after all, we are looking here at the official replacement of the 5-Series GT; and it is supposed to be bigger and wider, just like any other new model within the carmaker`s lineup.

Speaking of sizes, the new 2018 6-Series GT is now 87mm longer and 20mm lower, providing the model with better grip and stability. The space boot is also increased to 610 liters, with the rear seats folded down.

Inside, the cabin welcomes you with the same luxurious feel BMW has to offer at this point, like leather upholstery and contrast stitching.

Technologically, the brand-new 6-Series Gran Turismo is state of the art, being equipped with the same high-tech suite as its European counterparts.

We are dealing here with the newest iDrive6 media interface with 10.25-inch touchscreen, along with 12.3-inch digital display for the instrument cluster, 16-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, dual-climate zone climate control and so on.

Those looking for the M Sport Package, will be able to have the new 6-Series GT equipped with M goodies, like 19-inch M alloy wheels, M Sport braking system or active rear spoiler.

In the engine department, the 2018 BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo comes with a 2.0-liter turbo flat-four petrol burner in the 630i GT standard version, developing 190 kW and 400 Nm of torque. This makes it quite fast from 0 to 100 km/h – 6.3 seconds.

The topper 640i xDrive GT features a higher 3.0-liter turbo inline six-cylinder mill, with 250 kW and 450 Nm of torque. The same sprint is done in 6.3 seconds.

After announced in Europe and in the United States, the all-new 2018 BMW X3 has finally reached the Land Down Under, with prices to start at $68,900.

There are three versions available in Australia, with prices already announced – X3 xDrive20d ($68,900), X3 xDrive30i ($75,900) and the top of the line X3 xDrive30d ($83,900).

At the exterior, the model keeps the company`s new design language also underpinning the new X1 and X5, adding as well some new elements created by Australian Calvin Luk. Other new features also refer to 19-inch alloy wheels and high-performance eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.

The interior retains the same details as the European sibling, meaning new 10.2-inch touchscreen media interface with gesture control, adding as well 12.3-inch digital instruments cluster, wide head-up display, and high-end materials all around the cabin. The space is also set at 550L and can be expanded to an overall of 1,600L with the rear seats folded down.

In Australia, the 2018 BMW X3 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel with 140 kW and 400 Nm of torque, in the xDrive20d, coming with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds. The fuel consumption is also set at an average of 5.7L/100 km.

Next in kin, the 2018 BMW X3 xDrive30i is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo petrol burner, developing 185 kW and 350 Nm of torque, and reaching 100 km/h in a good 6.3 seconds. The top of the line xDrive30d features the same engine, but develops 195 kW and 620 Nm of torque. That means just 5.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, and an average fuel-consumption of 6.0L/100 km.

BMW is once more trying to cope with the heavy demands on the Australian market by providing the best solutions for its customers. Besides the newly announced 1-Series LCI, the German based carmaker has also launched the 2017 2-Series LCI in the Land Down Under.

The 2017 BMW 2-Series LCI comprises three variants, both coupes and convertibles, with prices to start from $52,900 for the 220i Coupe and going all the way up to $85,800 for the M240i Convertible. Full prices are revealed below.

In order to make the sedan market more competitive in Australia, BMW has announced that, besides the M3 standard model and the M3 Competition Package, it will also launch a more affordable edition, called the Pure, and priced at $129,900.

Over the standard sedan, the M3 Pure is $10,000 AUD cheaper, yet coming with exquisite features at the exterior as well as inside. Speaking of which, Marc Werner, CEO at BMW Australia, has also declared in an official interview:

“The BMW M3 Pure builds further on Australia’s successful Pure edition models, most recently seen on the BMW M3 and M5. This model offers the full capability of our M3 Competition at a price point that is sure to attract a new core of enthusiast customers.”

Common features with the rest of the lineup refer to illuminated ”M3” badging on the M sports seats, as well as the latest iDrive6 infotainment system.

At the exterior, the M3 Pure borrows plenty of the equipment from the M Competition Package, like 19-inch double-spoke black alloy wheels as standard, or the optional 20-inch alloys, adding as well LED headlights, M Competition exhaust tailpipes, carbon fiber roof, gloss black gills, kidney grille or bootlid with the M3 logo.

Inside, the list of mods are also impressive and refer to ConnectedDrive Freedom, Navigation System Professional, Driving Assistant, Carbon structure cloth/leather upholstery, Carbon fiber interior trim, or nine-speaker Hi-Fi sound system.

In the engine department, the 2017 BMW M3 Pure comes with the same 3.0-liter inline straight-six with BMW`s TwinPower Turbo technology, allowing 444 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Hooked to a six-speed manual transmission, the model runs the 0 to 100 km/h straight line in 4.2 seconds, however, with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, the same distance is done in 4.0 seconds.
