Those living in Germany back in the 1980s would definitely remember the iconic E30 M3, an exquisite model that used to turn a lot of heads on the streets.

It was considered state-of-the-art, extremely powerful and coming with lot of impressive driving dynamics. The model was also priced at £26,000, which back then, was a lot of money.

One particular model, looking pristine, is ready to find it owner, coming with a price tag between £30,000- £35,000.

The model will be available for sale at the Silverstone Auctions starting 25th of February, at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry, United Kingdom.

As aforementioned, the model looks pristine and was well-taken care off. It was brought from Germany in the UK about a decade ago and had five owners, with the last one being an Irish BMW classic lover, who drove it until it reached 180,247 km.

In case you decide to buy the model at the auction, you will also get some spare parts, meaning two sets of wheels, Cecotto BBS rims, winter tires, as well as a spare engine and gearbox. For extra cash, you can also get the number plate.

BMW lovers here we are with the last standing BMW 30 Jahre M5 in the United States, which will see the auction day on the 15th of January. This particular model wearing the one-off Frozen Dark Silver metallic finish from the BMW Individual catalogue, will have a starting auction price of $138,275.

As expected, the auction on the BMW 30 Jahre M5 will take place at the BMW CCA and Barrett-Jackson auction house and all the proceedings will be donated to “The Ultimate Driving Community…Building the Foundation”, which is part of the BMW`s CCA Foundation, that raises money for teen drivers who would like to carry on the carmaker`s legacy.

As one can recall, only 300 models were produced worldwide, out of which 30 models reached the shores of the United States.

The BMW 30 Jahre M5 is proud to come with a lot of interesting features inside, with the “30 Jahre M5” lettering to mark its presence on the front door sills or the backrests of the seats. A plaque also bears the same lettering.

Under the hood, the BMW 30 Jahre M5 is also bragging with a powerful unit, which outputs 600 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque and capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Going to classic car auctions generally means spinning off quite a lot of money. Going to classic car auctions in search of unique or very rare models generally means your wallet can fill the back of a van.

It’s what tends to happen at these things, but as this unique looking 1948 BMW Veritas is about to demonstrate, it doesn’t really have to be this way.

Soon to hit the auction block in not the best of condition, the 1948 BMW Veritas Convertible is not expected to grab any glamorous amount of money with virtually no hope of it breaking the five figure barrier.

Why is this? Well, while us fans don’t get it, it’s actually pretty simple. There’s no genuine interest in this sort of vehicle, no awareness of its existence and the shoddy condition certainly doesn’t help.

I’m sure most of you will not have heard about the 1949 BMW Veritas convertible we see here and there’s no real shame in it, what is shameful is that now that it’s made it into the public eye, it still isn’t getting any popularity.

Going through the car’s history, we find that under the redesigned body it shares the engine and plenty of the underpinnings with the infamous 328 model of the late 30’s.

It may sound like a drawback to have an engine that small but it is actually a workaround the presiding post World War II regulations that would prevent any German manufacturer from building any new engines that were larger than one liter.

Ernst Loof, Georg Meier and Lorenz Dietrich are the creators of the machine and the latter is actually the intrinsic connection the Veritas has with the Bavarian car maker.

Though Veritas was responsible for some of the first German Formula 1 cars and had become quite the established brand in that period, BMW weren’t very keen on this car wearing their badge.

Quite a downfall in terms of auctioning price, the prodigal child that never returned, but there’s something about this 1949 BMW Veritas that counters it.

Thanks to a custom rebuilt body, it went on to star in a 60s detective TV series called Boston Blacky. Sadly though, pending its retirement off the screen, the custom 1949 BMW Veritas fell into disrepair, only to be rediscovered in 2004.

From that day on, nothing in particular was done to restore or maintain it but it has slowly crept to the public eye and it is finally going to go under the hammer of the prestigious RM Auction House.
