For the past decade, the Masata brand has been synonymous with performance in the European aftermarket scene. From chargepipes to downpipes, their line of products have enabled thousands of vehicle owners to run at their peak performance. In particular, their chargepipes made of aircraft grade aluminium have always been a very popular ‘go-to-part’ for those who just started their modding journey. Another popular part that has been receiving rave reviews from the community are their downpipes, which from what we understand are all individually handcrafted to achieve the quality desired.

The one problem was that they have mainly focused on the European market for the past few years. If you were to search up terms such as N54 chargepipes or B58 downpipes on the popular BMW forums, chances are you would find a North American car owner lamenting about the need to pay import fees or extra shipping costs to get these Masata parts shipped over to the States or Canada direct from their base which is just South of London. Chargepipes for example, may cost an extra $30 to ship across the Atlantic – whilst not exorbitant, many would just prefer just getting it from a local dealer that offers free shipping instead.

NOW ACCESSIBLE VIA MULTIPLE USA VENDORS

It was thus no surprise that their recent announcement on expanding to the North American market was met with quite a bit of excitement from performance enthusiasts over here. At the time of writing, they have already partnered up with major distributors such as ECS Tuning and Extreme Power House. ECS in particular does seem to hold a large amount of stock from what we can see on their website, so that is bound to further increase accessibility to the Masata brand for the North American community.

N54 MASATA DUAL CONE INTAKES

We also had a chance to sample one of their best sellers – the N54 Dual Cone Intakes (DCI) that fit the very popular E Chassis 135i and 335i. The first thing that struck us was the effort put into packaging these products. These were all packaged in very aesthetically pleasing black boxes, with lots of information about the special characteristics of the Masata intake provided on the exterior packaging.

We are used to receiving many performance parts in dull and plain brown boxes that look like they can disintegrate at any time, so this was definitely a big step up in our opinion. Performance was however, of course, a top priority – what use is there for good boxes if the part does not perform? The intakes certainly do not disappoint at all and live up to the Masata brand name. The black inverted cone filters coupled with the pipes connected to the turbo inlets allow maximum possible airflow and provide almost 15+ whp gains and 8+ torque. Contrary to many proponents of a cold air intake, these DCIs do not produce any higher air intake temperatures at idle nor at wide open throttle. Installation was also a breeze, so this is certainly a part we would highly recommend if you are looking to mod your N54.

TO SUMMARIZE

To summarize, we feel that this move by Masata to finally expand to North America has been long overdue, given the immense demand for their parts in this region. These should be very popular here, given the legacy they have built over the past decade in Europe, and will certainly raise the bar as to what one defines as high-quality performance parts over here in North America.

When it comes to customizing a BMW product, the California-based European Auto Source is a resourceful tuner, with thousands of body styling pieces and upgrade packages, available for almost every model that you want to have it modified.

Even if the tuner prefers customizing plenty of BMW M2s, M3s and M4s, it is also able to carry out further tuning programs on other hot SUVs, like the X6 M seen in the media gallery below. This particular lad comes with plenty of bits from different worldwide tuners, with the installation to be carried out by the same EAS tuner.

Tuners like AC Schnitzer, RKP or Vorsteiner have left their marks on this exquisite Alpine White BMW X6 M, making it more aggressive and increasing its stance.

At the exterior, the model comes with the carbon fiber front lip spoiler courtesy of RKP, while adding as well new bumper inserts and rear diffuser, or 3D Design carbon fiber trunk spoiler, iND M Performance front grille set, iND M Performance side grille set and iND painted trunk badge.

At the rear end, the Alpine White BMW X6 M by EAS is now had with the new and high-performance Akrapovic Evolution titanium exhaust system, which adds a wilder engine growl and increases the car`s power by 3.9 kW and 8.4 Nm of torque.

To complete the aero package, the model can also be admired in the media gallery below with a new set of V-FE 404 forged wheels from Vorsteiner, sized 21 x 10.5 and 22 x 11.5 front and rear, respectively, and finished in Titanium Graphite. The tone perfectly matches the car`s Alpine White exterior.

All products from BMW are exquisite and comes with their own distinctive personality, but when such models become the subjects of a tuning house, then the result can be really amazing.

The BMW 6-Series is another extraordinary piece of German engineering, the real proof that high-class is still the main philosophy that guides BMW into remaining one of the best carmakers in the auto industry. The 6-Series Gran Coupe 640i below is the perfect example on that matter.

The model in question has received some cool stuff from Prestige Auto Couture, which makes it the perfect candidate for the below photo session. It looks extremely aggressive and standout with the new wheels from Vossen Wheels and new body parts from the aforementioned tuning company.

The car`s main highlight remains the new set of wheels, which increases its overall aggressive looks and meaner personality.

We are looking here at the Vossen VPS-306 forged alloys, as well as the new ST Suspension lowering springs which lower the car`s ride height for increased stance and better stability and handling on the road.

As for the car`s powertrain under the hood, this lad here is a real monster, coming with a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline straight-six engine, developing 320 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The mill also features a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control Double-VANOS and Valvetronic, adding another cool ingredient – high-precision direct injection, which makes it extremely fast.

We are looking here at a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h delivered in just 5.4 seconds, at a top speed of 250 km/h. The model also comes with a fuel-consumption of 22 mpg / 32 mpg (city / highway).

The gorgeous BMW M4 is perhaps the most customized model from the German group, and that because it comes with a stock body styling that allows for insane customizations both at the exterior as well as inside. Not to mention the plethora of power kits under the hood that makes it one of the best sports cars out there.

Every time we get our hands on one, we feel blessed that we get to share its exquisite looks with you folks. The model seen below is also standing out from the crowd with the Yas Marina Blue and the new aero parts and wheels, from different tuning companies.

This lad here looks complete, with performance upgrades also added. In the stock form, the high-performance 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine churns out 431 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. With the six-speed transmission, the model gets a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, while with the seven-speed M Dual-Clutch, the M4 reaches 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

The power kit from VF Engineering and the Akrapovic`s exhaust system surely makes the car more powerful, but unfortunately for now, there are not any new figures released.

The car`s main highlights refer to the prominent rear wing from RevoZport as well as the new side skirts and PSM Dynamic rear diffuser. Also, the new two-way adjustable suspension system courtesy of KW, Dinan sway bars, control arms and the high-performance HRE R101 alloy wheels, finished in black, provide the model with unique look, more aggressive attitude and increase stance.

There is definitely no comparison between an M3 and a 3-Series 320i version, but the two of them are not that different than you think, at least not in this case, as this 3-Series 320i has received some new goodies that might make it suitable for an M3.

As we can depict from the pictures, this white BMW 320i is packing a full M Performance aero kit, with new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, diffuser, mirror caps and customized spoilers. The entire body kit is complemented by the gunmetal 20-inch HRE S101 alloy wheels, wrapped with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubbers.

The new alloy wheels are also coming with the upgraded KW suspension Variant 3 coilovers, along with some lowering springs which reduce the car`s ride height, making it look more menacing.

In the engine department, the BMW 320i is indeed getting closer to the all mighty BMW M3, with a plethora of upgrades, carried out from many aftermarket shops. We are looking thus at the Manic Ecu tuning, Gruppe M air intake, The Wagner Tuning performance intercooler, as well as the Armytrix phone-controlled exhaust system.

There are no details concerning the new performance, but it is definitely improved from the stock 431 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque.
