The BMW`s subsidiary MINI automaker is ready to refresh its lineup in Australia, by launching the One Hatch model on the hot continent, with prices to start from 24,500 AUD.

For the base entry-level MINI One Hatch, you will get a lot of fine tweaks, as the model has already outrun the previous MINI Ray generation in terms of performance at a lower price.

The MINI One Hatch will be sporting a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood, which will develop 75 kW and 180 Nm of torque, the unit being hooked to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The MINI One Hatch is also available with a 6-speed automatic transmission, in case you want to throw in another 2,350 AUD.

The Australians will get the chance to enjoy the MINI One Hatch as the model is also fuel efficient, consuming an average of 4.9L / 100 km for the manual, while the automatic stands at 5.0L / 100 km.

The higher 1.5-liter three-cylinder unit develops 100 kW and 200 Nm of torque, having a consumption of 4.7L / 100 km in the manual and 4.9L / 100 km in the automatic.

The MINI Cooper D diesel is also available from 31,800 AUD, while the top of the line MINI Cooper S can be yours from 36,950 AUD.

The journalists from the British Auto Express publication has decided to roll out and test the BMW i8, with the conclusions to be revealed on the video that they have made.

The BMW i8 is that particular ride that stands forward due to its futuristic design and the technology it enhances inside and under the hood.

The BMW i8 hybrid is 4,700 mm long, 1,940 mm wide and 1,300 mm high, weighing 1,485 kg. Under the hood, the i8 comes with a 1.5-liter I3 turbo engine, developing 228 horsepower (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque.

The engine is backed by a hybrid synchronous motor, developing an extra 129 horsepower (96 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque.

The total power the BMW i8 develops is 357 horsepower (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque, with the unit hooked to a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the electric motor has a two-stage automatic.
