The 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show seemed to have proven a real success for the BMW German based premium carmaker, as it scored twice, by launching extraordinary high-class models, like the long-expected 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M, as well as gaining an important award.

We are talking about the 2014 BMW i3 electric model, which has received the 2015 Green Car of the Year, thus managing to outrun other green cars, like the VW e-Golf, Audi A3 TDI, the Honda Fit, or the Chevy Impala Bi-Fuel.

Ron Cogan, Green Car Journal and CarsOfChange.com publisher and editor, stated that the BMW i3 electric is the green icon model of the next generation of electric vehicles.

”It is purposefully designed with a small environmental footprint and zero emissions, offering the best features of an electric vehicle with the functionality of an available on board engine-generator that nearly doubles its battery electric range, Cogan also concluded.”

To be a reminder, the BMW i3 model is the company`s first electric vehicle to come with an electric motor under the hood, backed by a 1.5-liter range extender, developing an overall 170 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, hooked to a single spped transmission.

The BMW i3 was launched last year and was closely followed by the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid model, both vehicles becoming worldwide leaders on the ”green” market.

The 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M have been long rumored and caught on spies, have been seen around us in some unofficial events and extraordinary photo gallery or impressive videos.

But now, the two SUVs are here to enchant your eyes with their extraordinary designs, featuring more aggressive body styles, which stands on a tuned chassis, and also easily distinguishable through their large intakes, sporty bumper, or the side functional vents at the front. At the rear end, the twin tailpipes preview the massive torque they are coming with.

Speaking of performance, the 2015 X5 M and X6 M are both equipped with 4.4-liter V8 units, which develop 567 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, reaching the 0 to 60 mph mileage in just 4.0 seconds.

The performance is also given by the size of the SUVs which now weighs only 2,275 kg and can easily match the powerful E92 BMW M3.

Inside, both 2015 X5 M and X6 M boast with the BMW`s M Performance Parts on the seats, while other tweaks, specifically designed for the M models, include Merino full-leather trim, leather steering, aluminum paddles and other luxurious features.

BMW has launched the long-awaited 2015 X5 M and X6 M, ahead the official unveiling at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Both the 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M are coming with a lot of interesting features, from a visual point of view as well as in terms of performance and equipment.

From a visual point of view, the 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M are coming with the company`s usual update parts, like revised bumpers and new headlights and taillights.

Since both models bear the M badge and marks, the revised bumpers are now more aggressive, as they now sport large air intakes, along a new set of alloy wheels and the BMW M quad tailpipe design.

Under the hood, the 2015 BMW X5 M and the X6 M are packed with a 4.4-liter V8 unit, developing now 567 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.

Equipped with the new 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, both models are capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

The 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M are also coming with a fuel efficiency of 11.1L per 100 km, with CO2 emissions standing at 258 g/km.
