Earlier today, German publication Bimmer Post has revealed a 177-page document which leaked information about BMW`s future and facelifted models to arrive in the following period. Amongst those documents, there were also some new facts about the arrival of the new G01 X3 with an entire model fleet.
According to the leaked information, once it will arrive on the market in 2018, the all-new G01 BMW X3 will come with a bigger family, welcoming the M40i and the M40d variants. The overall range is listed in the media gallery below.
If you remember, last year BMW was testing out a prototype of the so called M40i. Well, a future model is definitely happening, with performance to be borrowed from the M240i. There is also mentioning a future M40d, which would come fitted with a high-performance engine from the 7-Series – the 750d`s 3.0-liter quad-turbo diesel.
The same leaked document also make reference to the so called “40d” and “50d”, both models coming with improved powertrains of the present 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, with more than 225 kW and 600 Nm of torque.
As for the range`s top of the line variant, BMW is also reportedly working on a high-performance X3 M, with more than 317 kW in the present M3. This one would also be followed by an iPerformance xDrive30e plug-in hybrid, which might become the first plug-in hybrid X3, as well as an xDrive40i, with more than 240 kW.
More details will be revealed perhaps in the third-quarter, just before the G01 X3`s official debut at the beginning of 2018.
