The 2016 Paris Motor Show is opening its gates in September and BMW is already thinking ahead, planning some cool models for an official unveiling.

One of the hot models announced for the show is the upcoming 2017 G30 BMW 5-Series, the model being recently caught on a spy video while undergoing some rough tests at the Ring.

As we can depict from the video, the German carmaker is hard testing the next G30 5-Series and by the name plate and the nervous sound on the car`s V8 engine, we might be talking here at the upcoming 550i.

From a visual standpoint, the 2017 G30 5-Series will be quite imposing and closer in styling to the 2016 7-Series. It will be larger, wider, lighter and much more potent.

The new design changes will be reflected by the new front and rear grilles, low front lip, custom taillights, much lower rear bumper and diffuser and so on.

As expected, the new G30 5-Series will stand on the CLAR platform now available with carbon fiber infusion, which will make the model lighter with around 100 kg.

Underneath the skin, the 2017 5-Series is rumored to come with a massive 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, capable of 330 kW. The performance figures are not yet released, but judging by the impressive spy video, it would be pretty outstanding.
