BMW 1-Series Sedan Goes Front-Wheel Drive
It is clear enough that BMW has understood the fast growing trends in the auto industry and has decided to take its part of the action by gradually launching upcoming models with front-wheel drive layout, in order to cope with the already heavy competition from Mercedes-Benz or Audi.
This is why the upcoming BMW 1-Series Sedan is also set to sport a front-wheel drive configuration as it has to face the challenges from its top predators Audi A3 or Mercedes-Benz CLA Class. The idea of having a FWD configuration is that it comes with cheaper prices, that would take way some percentage sails from the two aforementioned competitors, being able to put a price tag of less than $30,000 on the model.
On the other hand, a lot of people might still want to drive a BMW 1-Series Sedan with a rear-wheel drive layout, but perhaps they should chose the 2-Series which somehow fills the needs of driving backwards. More than that, BMW is also preparing an xDrive version to fill the gaps.
Overall, the BMW 1-Series would be fully loaded with some interesting engines, like four-cylinders, all-wheel drive turbocharged, all-wheel drive layout, or the BMW sport sedan version?
