BMW i3 Police Car First Seen in Geneva, Switzerland
The BMW i3 was seen in a world premiere in Geneva, Switzerland, equipping the local police and replacing thus of the BMW X3 Authority Vehicle.
The BMW i3 Police Car will become a highly efficient police vehicle, watching over the 200,000 people living on a area of 5.93 km2, with other European countries soon following the Swiss example.
The reason the Geneva police decided to equip the local authorities was because the BMW i3 has already proven its efficiency in terms of power and performance.
We are talking here about an electric drivetrain outputting an impressive 170 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, being capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, at a top speed, electronically limited at 150 km/h.
In the US, the BMW i3 electric has an estimated EPA of 81 miles, coming with a combined MPGe of just 124, translated in 138 MPGe in the city, and 111 MPGe on the highway.
