BMW M Director Confirms the Undergoing of the New BMW M2
There are some interesting breakthrough information from the M Director of BMW stating that the new M2 is on its way.
The M2 will have the BMW`s F22 platform and will be the stable platform of the upcoming 2 Series. The M2 Coupe would have its moments of glory somewhere in late 2014, early 2015.

The new BMW M2 would be powered by two engines – a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbo, having around 350 horsepower, which would be quite similar with the 1M coupe, and also a tri-turbo 6-cylinder motor with quite the same performances.
The M2 would come with DCT transmission and brakes from the current M3. Weight down would be reduced with extensive use of CFRP.

The BMW M Division Director, Nitschke explains to Autoexpress: “In the 1M Coupe, we have a starter car for the M Division, and we are continuing to develop this project.”
HE also continues: “Such models must be sporty, and offer extraordinarily low fuel consumption. This is something we could achieve with the M2. I think the 1M Coupe proves there is room for an M2, a coupe.”
