F30 BMW M3 sedan to make first appearance
The currently media frenzied F30 BMW 3 Series has another surprise for us in store it seems. There’s not that much we don’t know the details of the F30 so this piece of news is about its offspring.
Most notable sibling of the F30 BMW 3 Series is none other than the BMW M3 and this time the news comes with quite the surprise attached.

When the next generation of the BMW M3 will be introduced, in all of its F30 glory, it will be the sedan version that has the first public appearance.
Unlike nothing we’ve ever seen before from BMW M division, the new M3 will not be a coupe, but a four door sedan with the lesser door’d variant expected quite a bit of time later.
This seems like a bit of a shock, particularly considering how not that long ago there were some rumors and reports about the M3 Sedan’s low sales figures killing it off completely.

I suppose that the much more frequent spyshots of the BMW M3 sedan that turned up all over the web should have given it away, as well as a bit of marketing cleverness.
That would be in noticing how BMW is aware that most people identify the M3 as a coupe, so people will still want that one only it will be easier for people of a more practical disposition to make a decision.
At least it stands until the M3 coupe comes along, something that should happen between six and eight months after the new F30 M3 Sedan is unveiled.

What is a bit of a worry is that now some rumors reports are talking about the 3 Series Coupe becoming the 4 Series and the M3 two door to be called the M4.
It sounds wrong in so many ways yet it makes sense as it would mean that people identify the F30 BMW 3 Series and the new coupe would have the same presence as the higher class 5 and 6 Series do.
Another slightly concerning issue with the news related to the F30 is that its M3, sedan or coupe, may be powered by a V6 engine as opposed to an inline six powerplant that fans of the Bavarians adore.
