BMW officially revealed their April Fools joke – the BMW M3 pickup
About one week ago, the German engineers were seen on Nurburgring testing an unexpected prototype, a pickup version of the current BMW M3 generation. Today, they decided to release the official details on the pickup model, the Germans yet trying to tell us that everything is somehow serious, but we know it is not.
However, there is a BMW M3 pickup, the prototype in the photos of course, a model that packs the 4.0-liter V8 engine developing 414 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
Mainly, the pickup version retains all the major elements from the standard version but of course, it gets what it needs for a pickup model, the rear platform.
Moreover, BMW stated that the rear platform has a load capacity of 450 kilograms but however running at a top speed of 300 km/h, as the M3 pickup reaches the same top speed, it is hard to think that you can carry safely something in the rear. Check the photo gallery released by BMW and drop a comment if you would buy this kind of vehicle if it will somehow enter production.
