More on the Vision EfficientDynamics based BMW i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid
Germans at BMW plan to launch a hybrid coupe model somewhere in 2013 or 2014, a hybrid model with some certain purposes: to fight with its segment rivals and provide high performance with less consumption. BMW i100 Coupe Active Hybrid will be the transposition of the well-known Vision EfficientDynamics concept.

The propulsion system is still unknown for us, a series of rumors being proposed. It’s rumored that the i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid may adopt a six-cylinder 3.0-liter and two electric engines but also a three-cylinder and two electric engines scenario might come true.
According to the same rumors the BMW’s i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid model based on the Vision EfficientDynamics concept might have an autonomy of 50 km and might develop up to 285 horsepower, in the best case possible. The most powerful opponent for the BMW’s hybrid is the Audi’s e-Tron electric model, the rivality between the two German manufacturers being well-known also.

Also, the glass (polymer?) doors look interesting, but are pstinleos, and from a practical stance (dings in the carpark from other cars’ doors) and a safety standpoint, they are ridiculous. I know this is just a concept, and any production version (if it ever got made) wouldn’t have doors made of glass (or even some super-polycarbonate), but they still serve no purpose, plus your lady friends can’t give you shifty little lap massages any more.
