The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe will be pulled out of production in December

Here is some bad news for the fans of the smallest and most affordable M model in BMW’s portfolio. According to Matt Russell, the M brand manager from America, the Germans will end the production of the current 1 Series M Coupe in December this year.

Even we knew that the M model will benefit just from a limited production, this decision is quite shocking as we talk about the cheapest M-badged model from BMW but still able to deliver good performance, a recipe that should bring good sales, at least in theory. Until now, BMW Group issued no press release announcing that the production of the 1 Series M Coupe will end along with this year but there is no reason to think that the U.S. M manager lied us.

According to the British people from CAR, the Bavarians are currently working on the M version of the current BMW X3 F25, the sporty version of the German SAV following to enter the market somewhere next year. However, these details are not officially confirmed by BMW but the British publication claims that well placed confirmed these assumptions.

According to the first details, BMW is now developing a tri-turbo unit based on the current 3.0-liter engine. This means that the six-cylinder unit will transform into a 3.2-liter engine and will benefit from three turbochargers, two exhaust-gas driven and an additional electric one.

Rumors, renderings and assumptions on the new BMW M3 F32

It seems that BMW has big plans for the new 3 Series/M3 generation, a part of them being shared with us even the debut date is still quite far. The new BMW 3 Series is very likely to debut next year at Geneva while the M3 F30 will go on sale somewhere in 2014. Even so, BMW plans to operate some major changes in the engine range of the next-generation M3, up to four new engine configurations following to be introduced.

Firstly, the Bavarians are looking forward to offer a reworked version of the current S65 V8 unit, the one found now under the hood of the BMW M3 E92, offering it as a biturbo engine with optimized fuel consumption and improved performance. This unit could make a good fit under the bonnet of the Z4 M and X3 M, the latter being under development right now if we consider the latest rumors in this regard.

According to O’Donnell, they thought that the new GT will attract the U.S. customers waiting for the wagon variant and determine them to get the hatchback model. Instead, this not happened and the customers turned their attention to the similar models in the range of German rivals.

BMW unveils 328 Hommage concept – ready to debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este

BMW decided to create a special concept in order to properly celebrate the 75th anniversary of BMW 328, the most successful and best-looking sports car of the 1930s, as the Bavarians claim. Therefore, the 75th anniversary will be celebrated with a special concept, called 328 Hommage, a model that is set to be unveiled in front of the audience at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.

At the exterior, the BMW 328 Hommage concept benefits from some parts found on the original model such as the old BMW double kidney grille, leather straps on each side while there are no doors, exactly as the originally BMW 328. Under the hood, the new German concept benefits from a 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine but there is no word about the performance.

G-Power releases full details on the BMW M3 GTS tuning package

The German company specialized in tuning BMW models decided to reveal all the important details on their tuning kit specially developed for the current BMW M3 GTS. Even the GTS version of M3 brings nothing but increased performance comparing to the standard model, the tuners from G-Power decided that even the GTS variant needs some extra horses under the bonnet while the appearance is still good enough.

With this been said, G-Power brought no exterior or interior tweaks, leaving the original body kit and of course, the famous orange finish that somehow signifies a tradition for the performance models bearing BMW’s badge.

BMW announces detailed information on the ActiveE limited series

As you probably know, the electric model known as ActiveE which is based on the current 1 Series Coupe will be available starting this fall in a limited series of around 700 units. Earlier this year, the Bavarians from BMW released the official pricing for the new electric ActiveE, and in the same time, announced the interested customers that the only way to get one of these units is in leasing.

Therefore, if you want to drive one of the zero-emission ActiveE you have to make a down payment of $2,250 for 24 months while you’ll have to pay a lease of $499 every month. Unfortunately, the first information about the availability of the new BMW ActiveE confirms as the Germans will offer this model just in leasing.

BMW to extend its driver assistant range with two new systems

The Bavarians from BMW are continuously looking forward to increase the driver and passengers’ safety through a range of safety systems able to prevent any accidents. The driver assistance systems play a very important role, therefore, BMW seeks to provide at least a preventing system for any possible threatening situation.

Even the two systems that we are talking about are still under development, the first one can be easily implemented into the current models while the second one which implies car-to-car communication still needs some time as it requires a special infrastructure.

The new BMW i3 rumored to start at a price of $35,000

It seems that new details regarding the BMW i3, more or less official, are emerging as the debut date approaches. The BMW i3 is part of the new i sub-brand, a range of electric models that will bear BMW’s badge, the first models being scheduled to debut starting 2013.

More exactly, we talk about the BMW i3, a three-door fully electric model that fits best the crowded cities, its small dimensions consisting an advantage in this regard. The 2013 BMW i3 features a new drivetrain with an electric engine able to produce 134 horsepower, power which will be sent to the rear wheels. A hybrid version of the model might enter the range later.

We talked several times about the new BMW M5 F10 from the first reveal at the Shanghai Auto Show, in form of a concept, to the latest video featuring the M version of the current 5 Series generation being tested on the track in France. If the new BMW M5 sedan is very likely to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, a possible Touring version is rumored to make its appearance next year but however, the opinions are divided and the details are few.

To make things clear, the prototype unveiled at Shanghai was actually a pre-production model named M5 Concept while the big reveal is programmed for Frankfurt. While some voices claim that a more powerful version of the current BMW 5 Series Touring is a must considering the range of the German rivals from Audi or Mercedes, BMW released no official details about the possibility to see the M5 Touring on the streets.
