BMW beats famous brands in China and ranks first

The Chinese market is undoubtely growing more and more and proves to be one of the most important automotive markets in the world. The Chinese people from Clear Asia decided to conduct a survey in order to find which is the most coveted brand in China.

More exactly, we don’t refer just to automotive brands but to brands in a wide variety of domains. The Hong Kong-based agency asked 2,500 people about their preference and at the end of the poll, BMW proved to be the most important brand for the Chinese people.

Even the development of the vehicles is not completely done, the Germans announced the line-up for the 2012 season of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters). BMW is determined to impose in the competition after 18 years of absence with six vehicles based on the current M3 E92.

BMW reveals at Shanghai the New Energy Vehicle (NEV)

Dr. Norbert Reithofer, BMW’s chairman announced a new range of vehicles called NEV (New Energy Vehicle) is about to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. The first model to bear the NEV badge will be the current 5 Series generation benefiting from the extended wheelbase.

The first one, BMW 640i, comes with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder alongside an eight-speed automatic transmission. With this setup you will get 315 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, the German model offering a top speed of 250 km/h and a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,4 seconds.
