RevoZport unveils the BMW 1 Series M Coupe Raze P450

It seems that the newest member of the M family gets more and more attention from tuners, a new package being revealed today by Asian specialists from RevoZport. The good news is that the 1M Raze P450 brings both aesthetic and performance improvements, the latter upgrade being something really interesting considering that the German model already has a big potential on the circuit as we have seen in this video where a BMW enthusiast raced against a BMW M3 CSL on the Nurburgring.

The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe against E46 M3 CSL on Nurburgring

Here we have a very interesting race against the freshly revealed BMW 1 Series M Coupe and the older but more powerful BMW E45 M3 CSL. Another important thing to know is that behind the steering wheel are not professional drivers but BMW enthusiasts. However, the result is pretty impressive and we can clearly see that the new 1M Coupe is a quite decent racing car even compared with a renowned model such the previous-generation M3 CSL.

VIDEO: BMW reveals the new i3 and i8 Concepts in depth

As you probably know, the Bavarians from BMW already revealed the new i3 and i8 models at a press conference held few days ago. For now, they presented just the concept version of the models in question but in fact they are pre-production vehicles which will suffer only minor modifications as mass production models. The fully electric BMW i3 is scheduled to hit the dealerships in 2013 while the plug-in hybrid BMW i8 sports car will be available later that year or starting 2014.

The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe already crashed three times

It seems that a small 1 Series with 340 horsepower under the bonnet and a rear-wheel drive system is quite difficult to control as today we saw the third incident where the smallest M ever created by BMW performance division has been involved. The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe is also offered in a limited edition of around 1,000 units while its production is scheduled to end later this year, most probably in December. Therefore, we got all the reasons to feel bad for each vehicle which ends up in the railings.

BMW reveals the new i8 Concept, a 349HP plug-in hybrid sports car

As promised, we are back with the fresh details on BMW’s fully electric i range from the press conference held on Friday. If yesterday we analyzed the BMW i3 Concept, today we will talk about the other model in the range, the i8 plug-in hybrid which follows to be available starting 2013 along the fully electric i3. The first obvious difference between the first i models is the powertrain, the new BMW i8 adopting a hybrid setup with an electric motor and a 1.5-liter gasoline unit.

The electric engine is placed on the front axle and delivers 129 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, coupled to a twin-speed transmission which transfers the power to the front wheels. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline unit is able to produce 220 horses and 300 Nm of torque, the rear wheels receiving the power thanks to a dual clutch transmission.

BMW DesignworksUSA to revise the BART in San Francisco

BMW recently announced that DesignworksUSA, the Californian design center, will take care of revising the San Francisco train system, one of the oldest in the country. The Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART) is also on the fifth place in terms of dimensions with 44 stations, therefore, BMW’s American design team has a pretty difficult task. However, we have no reason to worry as BMW already redesigned the metro system of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, that time in partnership with Siemens.

“DesignworksUSA is invigorated to join BART in their continuing commitment to delivering a premium ridership experience,” says Laurenz Schaffer, President, BMW Group DesignworksUSA. “We are passionate about creating innovative solutions for mobility in increasingly dense urban centers such as the Bay Area, and we are excited as our collaborative partnership with BART gets underway,” Schaffer continues.
