VIDEO: BMW M5 F10 pushed to the limit at Nardo Ring

BMW is continuing its campaign to promote the new M5 F10, a model officially scheduled to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. This time, the M version of the current 5 Series generation is presented while undergoing some high speed tests at the Nardò Ring in Italy.

Sadly, the new video teaser reveals no new information on the total output of the high performance German model but it seems that will get all the interesting information ahead the Frankfurt debut. To be more precise, the Bavarians somehow indicate us that the model will be unveiled at the M Festival which will take place between June 23 and 26th.

BMW officially ends the current 3 Series Sedan production in October

The Bavarians from BMW officially announced that the current 3 Series Sedan (E90) will be pulled out of production in October 2011. This decision mainly comes due to the fact that the next-generation 3 Series, known as F30, which has been surprised several times in spy photos, is expected to enter the market early next year, in the spring to be more precise.

The current BMW 3 Series entered the market six years ago, in 2005 and managed to obtain the “World Car of The Year” award at the New York Auto Show just one year later. The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe will be pulled out of production in December

Here is some bad news for the fans of the smallest and most affordable M model in BMW’s portfolio. According to Matt Russell, the M brand manager from America, the Germans will end the production of the current 1 Series M Coupe in December this year.

Even we knew that the M model will benefit just from a limited production, this decision is quite shocking as we talk about the cheapest M-badged model from BMW but still able to deliver good performance, a recipe that should bring good sales, at least in theory. Until now, BMW Group issued no press release announcing that the production of the 1 Series M Coupe will end along with this year but there is no reason to think that the U.S. M manager lied us.

BMW rumored to fit the new X3 M with a tri-turbo six-cylinder unit

According to the British people from CAR, the Bavarians are currently working on the M version of the current BMW X3 F25, the sporty version of the German SAV following to enter the market somewhere next year. However, these details are not officially confirmed by BMW but the British publication claims that well placed confirmed these assumptions.

According to the first details, BMW is now developing a tri-turbo unit based on the current 3.0-liter engine. This means that the six-cylinder unit will transform into a 3.2-liter engine and will benefit from three turbochargers, two exhaust-gas driven and an additional electric one.

Rumors, renderings and assumptions on the new BMW M3 F32

It seems that BMW has big plans for the new 3 Series/M3 generation, a part of them being shared with us even the debut date is still quite far. The new BMW 3 Series is very likely to debut next year at Geneva while the M3 F30 will go on sale somewhere in 2014. Even so, BMW plans to operate some major changes in the engine range of the next-generation M3, up to four new engine configurations following to be introduced.

This unit could make a good fit under the bonnet of the Z4 M and X3 M, the latter being under development right now if we consider the latest rumors in this regard.

BMW completely unsatisfied about the U.S. sales of the 5 Series Gran Turismo

As you probably know, especially if you are an American customer, BMW quitted offering a wagon version of 5 Series in the States and came with the Gran Turismo variant, a model which should have been successfully replace the more familiar wagon version. Unfortunately for the Bavarians, the 5 Series GT registered extremely poor sales, BMW North America CEO, Jim O’Donnell, sharing the same opinion with us.

According to O’Donnell, they thought that the new GT will attract the U.S. customers waiting for the wagon variant and determine them to get the hatchback model. Instead, this not happened and the customers turned their attention to the similar models in the range of German rivals.
