BMW Z4

The BMW Z4 is one of the most successful cars from BMW and it is the successor to the BMW Z3. The production of the BMW Z4 was started in 2003 and the first generation of BMW Z4 was codenamed E85.
There are only two variants coupe and roadster. The coupe was available from 2006 and the second generation of the BMW Z4 codenamed E89 was appeared in 2009.

After being introduced at the Paris Motor Show in September 2002, the commercial launch in France of the Z4 roadster was celebrated on March 27, 2003. The BMW Z4 2002 was released as a replacement for the Z3 roadster introduced and 100,000 Z4s were sold by BMW from 2002 to 2004.

BMW presents the ConnectedDrive Connect system

The Germans from BMW revealed more details about their new ConnectedDrive Connect (CDC) system, a technology which enables autonomous driving in certain conditions. Dr. Nico Kämpchen, Project Manager of Highly Automated Driving at BMW Group Research and Technology claimed that his team tested completes almost 5,000 test kilometers.

The new CDC system is able to brake, accelerate and pass other vehicles while analyzing the traffic conditions. It uses video cameras, GSP, lidar, radar and ultra sound systems in order to get accurate information and drive the vehicle safely.

BMW Z3

The BMW Z3 was produced between 1996 and 2002 in two variants, coupe and roadster, and was assembled for the first time in the U.S., namely in South Carolina. His predecessor is the BMW Z1 and the BMW Z4 is its successor. The BMW Z3 two-door coupe is codenamed E36 / 8, and the two-door roadster is E36 / 7.
Joji Nagashima designed the BMW Z3 and BMW offered in the beginning only the 1.9-liter four cylinder engine codenamed M44B19 with a power of 138 hp.

Here are some photos with the safety car version of the new BMW M5 F10, a model specially designed for the MotoGP race at the Indianapolis, an event which took place few days ago. Of course, behind the steering wheel were professional drivers from BMW which also presented the model to the participants. Besides the special exterior color scheme and graphics, the MotoGP safety car also features new systems and technologies.

BMW Z1

The BMW Z1 is the smallest two-door roadster in the range of “Z” and was firstly presented in 1987 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and the production started in early 1989. BMW had more orders for the BMW Z1, and his production ended in 1991, this year was a memorable one for BMW because it is the last year when the BMW Z1 was produced.

Also, were sold around 8,000 Z1s and its successor is the BMW Z3. The BMW Z1 is based on the 3 Series E30’s platform.

G-Power reveals BMW X5 tuning package

The Germans specialists from G-Power decided to take care of the 2011 BMW X5 by developing a new tuning kit. For this new package, the specialists opted for the xDrive48i version which is powered by a 4.8-liter unit able to develop 525 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque after the modifications. These figures are mainly achieved thanks to the new SK III “Sporty Drive” supercharger which also makes the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h possible in 4,7 seconds.

This might not sound too impressive but we should remember that we talk about a heavy model which obviously needs more power. The German tuner claims that the tuned X5 is able to hit a top speed of 275 km/h as well.

BMW delivered 5 Series Touring fleet for the Bavarian Police

The Bavarian Police received a fleet of nine BMW 5 Series Touring vehicles, models which benefit from all the required equipment for a police car. According to the first details, the fleet has been donated by BMW to the Bavarian Police, Joachim Herrmann, German Interior Minister, taking delivery of the vehicles from Alexander Thorwirth.

All nine vehicles are fitted with a new exterior design never seen on the German police patrol vehicles. These models will be seen on the streets of Munich and Upper Bavaria North, features such as strobe lights and iDrive signal system being installed from the factory.

BMW working on new music app with MOG

The Germans from BMW are looking forward to bring on-demand music closer to their customers by developing a new application in partnership with MOG, an online-music provider. According to the existing details, all the BMW customers who have their models equipped with BMW Apps will be able to use this service when it will be launched.

This new application will provide on-demand unlimited streaming, will let you search and tag songs but also will give you the opportunity to store the songs on your mobile and enjoy an ad-free service. In order to access this app, you will have to download it firstly to your car and then connect an iPhone.

VIDEO: BMW X3 F25 receives the 5-star Euro NCAP rating

The Germans from BMW recently announced through a press release that the new X3 (also known as F25) managed to obtain the maximum safety rating at the Euro NCAP crash tests. According to the German company, the second-generation X3 managed to achieve this result thanks to its extremely stable body structure along the front, side and curtain head airbags. The long list of safety systems such as Dynamic Stability Control system (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS, ESP and more, helped the German model too.
