BMW M5 Competition Edition Is a Real Fast Bimmer

Read Time:1 Minute, 43 Second

Every BMW model that comes out the production line is a special one, particularly if it involves an M5. We are used to seeing different M5s being offered in limited edition on special occasions, just as it happened with the Pure Silver Metal limited edition, recently launched in the United States in just 50 units.

In Germany, the Bavarian carmaker has also released a genuine BMW M5 Competition Edition, this lad here being offered for 129,500 euro, and coming with a plethora of carbon fiber body parts and sheer performance under the hood. Only 200 units will be sold worldwide.

Visually, the BMW M5 Competition Edition is first highlighted by the Carbon Black metallic exterior for the first batch of 100 units, while the other half will be available with the Mineral White metallic paint. Besides the color, the limited edition features carbon fiber kidney grille with glossy black finish, side sills with the “M5 Competition” badge, rear diffuser, side mirror caps, all complemented by the 20-inch forged allow wheels with double-spoke M model, finished in Jet Black.

The cabin is highlighted by the full Merino Black leather upholstery with Opal White stitching, adding Anthracite-like floor mats, carbon fiber trim, individually-numbered badge, or the 1,200-watt Bang & Olufsen audio sound system. The safety gizmos are also included, meaning Lane Departure Warning, Comfort Access, BMW Driving Assistant or Head-up Display.

Just like the special edition launched in the United States, this lad here packs the same 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine with 600 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, enough to deliver a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The entire power is delivered to the wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox coming as standard. The car`s top speed is set to 305 km/h if it comes equipped with the M Driver`s Package, otherwise you`re going to stick to a topper of 250 km/h.
