BMW M5 to get Active Sound Design technology

Read Time:1 Minute, 25 Second

The Germans from BMW recently announced that the all-new BMW M5, internally known as F10, will benefit from a new technology called Active Sound Design which is able to replicate the sound of the V8 engine in the cabin and offer the driver and the passengers a unique experience. Moreover, the new system developed by BMW is quite smart as it needs to analyze and adjust several factors such as the speed of the car and performance in order to deliver an accurate response.

“The Active Sound Design technology specially developed for the new BMW M5 takes its cues from the driving situation at any one time to deliver an accurate reproduction of the engine’s sound through the car’s audio system,” explains the Bavarian company.

It is still hard to anticipate if the new Active Sound Design technology will be able to reproduce the sound of the 560HP 4.4-liter V8 engine but one thing is clear: all the M5 drivers will get this system fitted on their cars.

Even you are the driver or just a passenger in the rear seat, BMW says that you won’t feel any differences: “At the same time the Active Sound Design control unit ensures an even spread of sound across all five seats of the new BMW M5, while observing the legal guidelines governing noise emissions inside and outside the car.”
