BMW hopes to achieve the same level of sales from 2009 through X1 and 5 Series models. They also hope to grow the group in 2011 with the release of X3 and Mini Countryman.
Germans rely on the new BMW 5 Series and BMW X1 to maintain its sales at least at the same level as last year. Head of sales at BMW, Ian Robertson, said that they will launch several products during this year, while the X1 has exceeded the sales goals established previously. Head of sales at BMW expects the new Mini Countryman and BMW X3 to obtain impressive results shortly after the onset that will take place later this year.
For example, the BMW X1′s release led to increased sales of BMW in Germany in the first quarter of 2010 by 2.2 percent, reaching 50,416 units. From these, 10.8% were represented by X1, 5459 units respectively. Combined sales volume of BMW and Mini brands rose 1.4 percent in the first quarter of 2010, reaching 56,617 units in a market which fell by 22.8 percent.
