Development of a 100% BMW electric car confirmed

BMW officials have confirmed their intention to produce an electric vehicle. The model will be marketed under another logo but it will be built alongside the 1-Series and X1 in Leipzig.

Germans at BMW said that they will build an electric vehicle at their factory in Leipzig. The model won’t be sold under the BMW brand but will be built alongside the 1-Series and X1 at the factory mentioned above. The brand under the new electric model will be sold, belongs, obviously, to BMW Group and can be Mini or can be the new i-setta.

As you know, BMW announced several months ago the intent to develop electric and green vehicles under another brand, which could be named i-setta. The name is inspired from a model sold by BMW in the 1960s named Isetta. People from BMW want to distance themselves in terms of ultra-ecological brand image as the models that will be marketed under the brand does not meet all the conventions in terms of handling and performance as models marketed under the BMW logo.
