BMW isn’t planning to produce and release a new touring version of the M5 F10. The model will be available only in sedan version, which will develop 578 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
The new generation of the BMW M5 will be 0.3 seconds faster at acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h than the current M5 E60. Those from BMW decided to remove the BMW M5 Touring version, the model following to be available only in sedan version. BMW M5 Touring was available only for E34 and E60 series, the model based on E39 wasn’t introduced into production because the rear suspension did not give performance worthy of a M model.
Aspirated V10 engine of the M5 E60 was changed in favor of a 4.4-liter V8 bi-turbo engine, which comes from the new X5 M and X6 M. The V8 engine offers 578 hp and maximum torque by 80% higher than that offered by the X5 M, reaching a value of 720 Nm. Top speed of this model will be electronically limited to 250 km/h, but if that limitation would be removed, the new M5 could reach a top speed of 303 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is accomplished in just 4.4 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the previous generation.
