BMW engineers working on a 3D color display on the windscreen

BMW is developing a new display on the windscreen, which will be three dimensional and will have a wide range of colors. Like the first generation of this system, it could start the Series 5.

Unlike the first generation of this system, the new display system, HUD (Head Up Display), will be three-dimensional and colored. Increased color spectrum of the system will display the system more useful for drivers and it will become an industry standard, there is the possibility that they may be integrated on many other models, even from other manufacturers.

The display on the windscreen of the BMW will show speed, indications of navigation and legal regulations such as speed limits. All these elements will be part of a more complex system but all will be showed on the widescreen. Besides, drivers will be able to access the phone menu via vehicle controls and see the options available directly on the windscreen.
