BMW Canada confirmed the fact that Canadians will be able to enjoy the BMW 335d and X5 xDrive35d from November. The announcement was made during an internal client advisors training in Vancouver. BMWNA will probably release the diesels at the same time.
According to J M Wong, who took part in the training, BMW Canada expects to sell more X5 diesels than BMW 3-series sedan, but sales will of course be influenced by prices. Over the years, there has been a number of petitions and complaints regarding the different prices practicated in the US and Canada. Moreover, customers who are looking for performance in a diesel will be pleased to find it in the BMW 335d, with 265hp and 425lb-ft of torque at 1 750 RPM, making the same kind of thrust as the BMW 335i, although J M says there is a little hesitation compared to the BMW 335i. The thing that impressed him the most was the pull when you hit about 1 800 RPM and you don’t feel like you are driving a diesel.
Furthermore, regarding the BMW X5 xDrive35d, there is also a lot pull about 1 800 RPM.
