In 2009, BMW prices will continue to rise

This year and next year, BMW will be raising prices, so if you’re planning to buy your very own BMW, now is the probably the best time to do it.

The German automaker has decided to raise prices in order to ameliorate the burden of exchange rates between European currencies and the US dollar, which is weak, making the exchange unfavorable. CEO Norbert Reithofer has stated that BMW will also produce 20,000 to 25,000 fewer automobiles during the next year and sell 40,000 fewer vehicles in the US.

Unfortunately, the disastrous exchange rates aren’t the only problem BMW is faced with, as the company leases 60% of its units in the US during a period when sinking residuals are causing automakers losses of billions.
