The updates that BMW will be presenting for its M range of cars as far as the 2009 model year is concerned include a number of styling and mechanical changes and increased equipment for the latest M3, M5 and M6 models. As a major change, we can observe the BMW iDrive system introduced throughout the range, but a new ‘Competition Package’ for the M6 Coupe as well.
The German automaker has added for the M3 models the new Sedan variant and offered the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with Drivelogic across the range. The new features for the BMW M3’s interior consist of a revised centre armrest, new air outlets for the air-conditioning system, plus new switchgear, head-restraints for the front seats and some new exterior colors.
BMW M5 and M6 models have new side mirrors added with an increased field of view. BMW will put in more Efficient Dynamics features: brake-energy regeneration systems and electrically powered air-conditioning systems. The BMW models are offered with new color schemes, including a carbon-black option, and, of course, the updated iDrive system.
The new BMW navigation system has 3D mapping and guidance software, the Connected Drive Internet system and an 80Gb hard-disk for mapping and media files, so you have everything you need at the tip of your fingers.
